HP Cans Plans For Android Tablet


Although it’s upsetting to here that HP are canceling plans to produce an Android tablet it does make perfect business sense. HP now own Palm and their WebOS platform and since the accuasition of the struggling smartphone maker, has created the HP Slate, one of the slickest looking tablet devices we’ve set eyes on. For HP to make an Android tablet which competes with it’s own Web OS driven slate doesn’t really make much sense.

But we can look on the bright side, the HP Slate is likely to put pressure on all tablet manufactures in terms of pricing and innovation, so while it’s not likely we will see a HP Android Slate, it is possible that by making this decision HP may have just given Android tablet makers a much needed kick in the behind!
