How do I update the firmware on Ainol Novo 7 Tablet to ICS?
Updating you Ainol Novo 7 tabletβs firmware to the latest Android Ice-cream Sandwich ROM is simple and should only take 10 minutes to complete.
Before you do update please keep in mind that the ICS firmware update will wipe all your user data and applications from your Novo 7 tablet, so it is recommended to backup everything first.
Also ensure your tablet is connected to a power supply when updating to prevent the tablet from crashing.

Instructions how to update Ainol Novo 7 tablet to Android Ice-cream Sandwich
Step 1: Put the the Android 4.0.1 (Ice-cream Sandwich) update file into the root directory of your SD card. Make sure that the file is named βupdate.zipβ and your SD card has at least 250MB or space. Insert your SD card into your Ainol Novo 7 tablet.
Step 2: Press and hold the power button.
Step 3: Press and hold the β+β button while still holding the power button down. Keep holding both until the Android logo and Android robot appears.
Step 4: If you release the buttons and wait for at least 5 seconds your tablet to enter the automatic update mode. Updating should take around 5 minutes and the tablet will reboot when finished.
Alternatively if you press a button your Novo 7 tablet will enter manual update mode. In this case choose the βupdate.zipβ file and let the update take its course.
Step 5: Once rebooted you can enjoy Android 4.0.1 Ice-cream Sandwich on your Ainol Novo 7 tablet!

i did step 1 and step 2. but it did not appear the Android logo and Android robot. it just appear Android robot and triangle into robot. what should i do next?

I tried all the possible methods to update the Novo7 Basic to ICS using the above said firmware update, but, failed, now, the tab is a ‘Brick”, guys, I am tired….it just sticks to the initial screen with “Ainol Novo7 Basic” banner, that’s it, nothing else….
I don’t know, how others got it successfully…..mine is a waste of money, now,
