Forget the JiaYu G3 take a look at the Uniscope Small C with Qualcomm CPU!

JiaYu G3 phones do in fact seem to be arriving with customers around China and to some degree international customers but for those of us who still don’t have our G3’s might I suggest you take a look at the Uniscope Small C with 1.2Ghz Qualcomm CPU!

From the outside of the phone it is plain to see that the Uniscope Small C design is inspired by Oppo and JiaYu G3 designs, which is perfectly fine by me as I personally think those are some of the best looking Chinese phones on the market.

In fact if you were to look at the Small C front the front only you could very well mistake this attractive phone as a JiaYu G3, however a quick glimpse from the back or side shows you that this is in fact an entirely different phone.

Gizchina News of the week

From a hardware point of view the Uniscope Small C has gone for a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8625 CPU running at 1.2 Ghz, which is likely to give the phone better GPS performance and could see the small C as being compatible with a number of overseas 3G network providers.

The screen is a 4.2 inch IPS display with 960 x 540 resolution which is fine for most people and there is a front 2 mega-pixel camera sitting above it which will make for clean and crisp video calls. The rear camera is your typical 8 mega-pixel auto focus unit which is found on most Chinese Android phones.

Strangely the Small C has just 768mb RAM rather than 1GB, but the onboard storage of 4GB is on par with similar phones.

The Uniscope Small C will be available on China Unicom networks here in China and will cost 999 Yuan.

    for me huawei u8950d (g600) seems a lot better than this one. Qualcomm MSM8225 + 768 ram + 4,5″ + 960×540 + dts sound (2 dynamics!) + gorilla glass + … it’s huawei! and it’s available in purchase (stock)!
    p.s. – i’m waiting it right now ๐Ÿ˜€

Please Andi you used to convert the Yuan to dolor for we the international Readers but currently you are no-longer do that which gives us hard time to read it up

    • October 28, 2012

It’s around $160. I think the reason Andi does not convert is because the actual conversion rate is not the rate anyone will pay. If you are importing you have to take into account shipping, tax and inflation from resellers. Therefore someone in USA importing will never pay the price in China of 999RMB/$160/ยฃ99. They will pay much more.

What are you looking to buy?

  8. October 29, 2012

Hello! Are you sure the phone has only 768Mb? Usually 1G memory phones report only ~700Mb on android.

I also write reviews on phones and gadgets. Check my site http://www.tudovemdachina.com. I write in portuguese but it is possible to read using google translate.

Looks like the Jiayu g3 is still not out. Normally by now there would be tons of youtube videos by individual owners.

    • October 30, 2012

Nope it’s all quiet on the J3 front

It may only support CDMA2000 and GSM900/1800mhz. It could not be used internationally.

Andy, could you please verify that?

    • October 30, 2012

      I think that is right
