Spy photos: JiaYu G4 Premium looks ready to launch and awesome!

JiaYu’s upcoming Android smartphones are never shy from appearing in from of the camera, and latest JiaYu G4 photos show the working phone is ready for action and a possible launch!

Once again the quad-core, 4.7-inch JiaYu G4 appears in front of the lens, but what’s nice about these photos is that we can see the phone functioning, and also get a better idea of how JiaYu have put their latest creation together.

Compared to the JiaYu G3, development of the G4 seems to have been plain sailing as the phone appears much the same as it did in original leaked photos from a few months ago.

The 4.7-inch display has a resolution of 1280 x 720 and uses OGS technology, to make the screen, and overall dimensions as thin as possible.

Colours look great, and from the photos the display on the JiaYu G4 looks as good as the 720 display on the Xiaomi Mi2! The keen-eyed of you will have noticed that there are 2 warning indicators in the top left of the screen signalling that the phone is a dual-sim device, a must have feature for many buying a Chinese phone.

Jiayu g4 dual sim

With the back cover of the phone removed dual-sim slots are confirmed as is the inclusion of a SD card reader. We can also see that this is a Premium version of the G4 which carries 2GB RAM, as the phone packs a might 3000mAh battery.

Jiayu G4 13 mega-pixel camera

The 13 mega-pixel rear camera and LED flash is also visible to the rear. We can’t wait to see how this performs and wonder if JiaYu have managed match or surpass the excellent image quality the Newman N2 offers.

I hope they won’t be using those ugly square icons in retail units. I would prefer vanilla android.

    The rest is looking good!

Looks like there is a micro-SIM for slot 1 and normal SIM for slot 2.

Pandawill.com offers both versions, youth and premium πŸ™‚

Is Pandawill trusted? I’ve heard a lot of complaints from that website. I want to pre-order their premium model because it seems to be quite cheaper than the rest but I dunno if I can trust this site. Anybody tried buying from them? What is ur experience like?

I bought my Jiayu G3 from Fast Card Tech, slow to ship and process. But i still got my unit in 3 weeks time. Good price but slow service.

Really? I’ve always heard bad reviews about FCT. Sometimes they ship products that dnt work or they give false tracking ID or they say they ship out but never send till months later. Also the most I’ve heard is the after sales support is super bad. Like if u have a problem with ur device, it would take them forever to help u out, that is even if they are willing to help. I guess ur one of the lucky ones then. I’ve always stayed away from FCT as far as possible when it comes to buying my devices online..

          • March 7, 2013

Yup, I’ve not heard anything positive about them either.

Excuse me, is it a micro sim slot ? does jiayu plan to steal iphone user fun ?

I like the hardware, but it seems like they’ve tweaked it to be more iPhone like, which could be a turnoff. Stock Android for less bugs & faster updates, no need to reinvent the wheel like a lot of the other bigger makers, it introduces delays in release and bugs in the software.

Andi I thinks that this is not enough, there are not enough points of view on this pictures and i.e. it will be lovely to see picture on which we are able to see the phone in it’s profile to see the thickness of the phone, cause we are still not knowing for SURE, are their going to be 4 x versions of this G4 like they are saying in JIAYU official forum, respectivly or only 2 version Think and Thin:

    JIAYU G4 Standard 1800mAh 133 x 65 x 8,2mm
    JIAYU G4 Flagship 1800mAh 133 x 65 x 8,2mm
    JIAYU G4 Standard 3000mAh 133 x 65 x 10mm
    JIAYU G4 Flagship 3000mAh 133 x 65 x 10mm

Are there going to be any difference between the Middle housing of the Thin and Thick versions of the phone and if NOT that mean that we will be able to put any battery and any cover we want on the back !!!

at least that’s what also stated on the official product page (http://www.ejiayu.com/en/Product-20.html). If there were only 2 versions, they would have split up the dimensions / battery row as they did with RAM/ROM. The second part of your question is interesting and remains open, though

    • March 7, 2013

There might me a special back cover that comes with the bigger battery. A bit like with the Galaxy Nexus’ bigger battery.

Their G3 GPS was too bad. Check the GPS function first before buying.

I don’t use GPS but when I do use it on my G3, it works flawlessly! I dunno what ur talking about. I got precise locations all the time when I’m on the road with my G3.

So YING HUA you are saying that this should be the Flagship version of the phone, on the pictures that are attached in this post ? I doubt about it, cause in a few newer posts here in gizchina.com you are saying that all the Flagships (UMI X2, X7 Flagship and many more) are having a problem with 2GB RAM and MT6589 compatibility and this is a well known issue of all MT6589 new phones that are going to be released soon ?! Is that so ?! So how can you prove to me and to the other readers, that this is the Flagship version of the phone, by Battery ??! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ this will be the stupidest proof ever, cause if the phone could handle 1800 mAh battery, of OF COURSE the same socket will be able to handle also 3000 mAh battery and if only the back cover is extended (thicker), than you can put the 3000mAh battery even on the Standart version !!!
