Huawei Ascend Mate priced at $432 in China

The Huawei Ascend Mate is a huge 6.1-inch Android phablet, one which we thought would be priced out of reach for many buyers, this isn’t the case though as the official price is $432.

Huawei held the official pricing and release date celebration for the 6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate yesterday. Members of the press and public were in attendance and witnessed Huawei’s sense of humour first hand with the price of the Mate showing up as 3210 Yuan, then dropping to 2988 Yuan and finally settling at 2688 Yuan ($432).

Just bought this phone because of screen size, 720p resolution, it’s very competitive hardware & of course price.
The fact that 4g is missing is of no concern, as in Australia our primary network is saturated and is only marginally faster than 3g.
The viewing angles are great. The construction rivals smartphones costing nearly twice as much.
At only 5mm wider tan the Note 2, I can still put it in my pocket. For me this is the difference between a phone and a tablet.
Huawei should do well with this device worldwide.
