Quad-core JiaYu G3S now listed on the JiaYu Store at $137

JiaYu seem to be making good on their promises for the JiaYu G4 and now the quad-core JiaYu G3S which just just made an appearance in the JiaYu store here in China.

The JiaYu G3s is this years update of the dual-core JiaYu G3 which propelled JiaYu to fame last year. Like last year’s dual-core JiaYu G3 this new model has a 4.5-inch 720p IPS display, 1GB RAM, 2 mega-pixel front camera, 8 mega-pixel rear, Android 4.2.1 plus dual SIM and support for 64GB SD cards, but gets a faster and more efficient quad-core MT6589 processor and a new lower price tag!

Gizchina News of the week

JiaYu have listed the G3s on their official online store here in China at just 839 Yuan ($137) with a release date of May 25th. We have checked with a few international resellers who tell us they also expect stock soon, however prices will be more.

Thanks again to Norman for the tip!

    Great price!
Why buy G4 if G3S is only $137? I expect on AliExpress to be $180 from the start even some of them are trying to sell it with more than $240.

G4 has better and bigger screen, slightly better battery and maybe OGS. That’s why.
But G3S has very interesting, IMO, design, so I think it will get its share of sales.

if price will be noticable lower than G4, ill consider this phone, especially because its smaller
sthan G4 and.. it actually exists :

Andi can you ask Jiayu I have read that it will have aluminium body! The size it will be the same? May with aluminium body be smaller…

      • Norman Zakaria
        May 23, 2013

There is no aluminium body. Its all plastic. Also the size of Jiayu G3 and Jiayu G4 is almost the same. In fact, Jiayu G4 is a little bit smaller than the Jiayu G3. Yes the screen size of Jiayu G3 is 4.5 inch and Jiayu G4 is 4.7 Inch but on the Jiayu G4, the bezels, top of the phone and the chin has been reduced so as to not make the phone too big.

        TLDR:
        1)Jiayu G3 is 10.8mm thick and Jiayu G4 is 10mm thick.
2)No Aluminium body (Probably aluminium shielding/plating inside the phone)

what i don’t understand is why these products are never officially sold outside china, forcing people who would like to buy them to pay much higher prices because of online resellers 🙁 there is no solution at all for this problem?

  10. May 23, 2013

Too bad it ends up in the vicinity of 180 – 220 dollars on Aliexpress. Why wouldn’t they ship to other countries outside China?

    • May 23, 2013

You can become an official reseller for your country/region.

    May 23, 2013

Right, but is a nice pick for 840 yuan… Andi, could it be possible 4 u to grab 1 and try that battery (and overall performance, sure)? 2750 mAh looks good at least in the paper. Thx for all the info! 🙂

  12. May 23, 2013

you dont need a reseller – get it from official sites jiayumobileshop.com or jayuofficial.com

    • May 23, 2013

      they are not official

      • May 24, 2013

What do you mean – they are not official?
At least jayuofficial.com should be official.

        What about zopomobileshop.com
        Is it official?

        • May 24, 2013

Zopomobileshop are actually Zopo. Jiayu have told me that these sites arent dealing directly with them. That’s not to say you won’t be able to get phones, it’s just that you’re buying without Jiayu’s backup

        • Robbie
          May 24, 2013

They ARE NOT OFFICIAL!!! – as Andi say…
jiayumobileshop.com -owned by AnteLife (ordered 2 times,G2+,G3=no problem)
          the other one – I don´t know

  13. May 23, 2013

Well, peppirù, at least for me, I would not want it to be sold in Brazil, otherwise it would cost close to US$1000, or better yet, like an iPhone 4S which cost close to US$1300 here… or the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 is close to US$1500
I will wait for the Jiayu G6…

    • May 23, 2013

OMG that expensive that’s ridiculous in Europe it’s about €600

      • May 23, 2013

Lola, all prices are ridiculous around here… if compared with other countries where taxes are reasonable, our prices seem unbelievable… even if we buy from China from a reseller, we still have to pay 60% import tax… and it’s still a lot cheaper than if we buy a smartphone at the telecom store…

Hi Marcelocapille. I’m from Chile and here we see many Brazilians and Argentinians shopping like crazy. Right now, in the Samsung Store and factory unlocked: Galaxy S3 USD.$650 and Galaxy S4 USD.$960 (But for Chileans is cheaper with a plan, you couldn’t have a plan though.)

          http://www.samsungstore.cl/telefonos-celulares-tablet-1/telefonos-celulares.html

Note: In Chile, by law, all phones sold must be unlocked.

I really don’t know how convenient prices are here, but when I visited Brazil (beautiful) everything from outside Brazil was crazy expensive. That should explain why I saw brazilians shopping every single item from an Adidas store in Chile once xD

Of course things in the USA are much cheaper, but Chile is closer.

          • May 24, 2013

            Hi Carlos…
I have been to Chile and know the difference you guys have in prices… the major problem are taxes… we have outrageous taxes, around 50% compound sales taxes on basically everything, but mostly for imports which get about 60-to-100% on top of the 50% compound sales taxes, which makes our prices absurd…
at least, if we are importing ourselves [as a regular person, not a store or company] we pay only 60% on top of “item+freight” and nothing more… although absurd, it still feels like a break… most retail work around 80% markup, so, we feel 60% as a good option…
yes, I know you have great prices in Chile, but I cannot get a phone there, not with a plan…

I’m sick of waiting for the G4 that I pre-ordered in March. Today I emailed the reseller to change my order to Neo N003. At least the N003 has a release date and it’s spec is far more clear.

Hi Andy, and the rest of the team of Gizchina.

You guys should open a webshop so you can resell phones for a lower price.
Like this Jiayu G3s for about $160-$175 (maybe a bit more).

does this phone have GorillaGlass & Gyroscope-sensor same as the previous version of G3?

  21. June 13, 2013

Has anyone in the US received either a G3S or the G4 at this point? All of my china resellers are delaying shipments. I’ve tried a few guys at Alibaba, Fastcardtech with nothing. I have a lot of trouble figuring out which is the real, authentic Jiayu shop as well. Any help appreciated!
