JiaYu G4 Advanced also gets updated camera hardware!

The JiaYu G4 Advanced will go on sale tomorrow, and along with the updated processor and additional RAM, this new version will also receive better camera hardware!

While we have been impressed with the JiaYu G4’s 13 mega-pixel camera for general use, the inner photographer inside us has wanted a little more clarity now and then for more reliable point and shoot action.

It seems JiaYu have been listing too, as the JiaYu G4 Advanced will receive updated camera hardware! The Advanced version of the G4 will sport a 13 mega-pixel rear sensor, but JiaYu have swapped manufactures for the Advanced to offer higher performance image processing to their flagship phone. JiaYu claim the new camera comes from the same supplier as the camera from the iPhone 5 (Sony ?) and the updated includes a move to F/2.2 Aperture size over the standard F/2.4.

As well as the updated camera the JiaYu G4 Advanced will have a faster 1.5Ghz quad-core MT6589T processor, 2GB RAM and OTG support.

……still no 900 MHz WCDMA support.

yes what a shame. These phones would have such more universal appeal if they supported extra frequency bands. There’s a lot of upset neighbouring Australians!

That image means nothing other than that the handset is capable of supporting those bands IF it has a radio chip fitted and tuned to the right band. I can tell you the G4 does not support any 900MHz 3G. I own one and believe me I have tested it!

why can’t they just add MHL like Neo N003 is going to feature?

it’s the only sinle high end spec jiayu phone don’t havem i prefer it over the neo only due to 720p and a tad smaller size.

but mhl is a real deal breaker for me…

Same for me, which is why I’m now considering the Samsung S4 Mini (Duo). I’m looking for a small phone that has OTG and MHL, and seeing Samsung offers the 11-pin MHL connector I’m betting their phones will allow for more functionality than other Android phones, perhaps even simultaneous MHL and OTG.

my 3 years old Nokia N8 had both OTG and miniHDMI out. so he could read from a usb stick and play to the tv.

early rumors of jiayu G4 said he will have MHL, even Andy wrote it here somewhere…

with mhl and a new 13MP possibly sony Exmor sensor it could be a great replacement for my N8.

    Hi Andy,
I have a friend in china who can buy it for me. Where can he find a shop that has the advanced version ? (When it will be released) Maybe in an official Jiayu shop ? (if yes, what are the addresses ?)
    Thanks by advance

Well … isn’t it that EXMOR sensor is a 13.2 (13.18) Mega pixels, as advertised for xperia, just 13M might be Omnivision sensor instead … Oh I wish sooo strongly for this exmor senor in jiayu phone!!! are we getting there yet ? I am affraid to be disappointed. no where says can do 120fps video recording nor HDR pictues …
Please Jiayu, hear this prayer !
