Oppo becomes 2nd most profitable phone company in China!

Oppo are making tracks to become an international โ€˜playaโ€™ and have just reported becoming the 2nd most profitable phone company in China!

For Oppo to report being the 2nd most profitable phone company in China is pretty big news! The Chinese phone market is the largest and fastest growing in the world, and their rivals include big names such as ZTE, Huawei, Lenovo and Xiaomi!

Oppoโ€™s range of Android smartphones is one of the more innovative on the market. They were one of the first companies to launch a quad-core 1080 phone with the Oppo Find 5 and were the first to launch phones with updated front camera hardware.

OPPO Second Most Profitable Mobile Phone Company in China

ย OPPO Founder and CEO Credits Quality Products, Consumer Focus for Success

ย SHENZHEN โ€“ July 23, 2013ย โ€“ย OPPO was reported this month in Entrepreneur Magazine to be the second most profitable mobile phone company in China, the worldโ€™s largest smartphone market. OPPO founder and CEO Tony Chen spoke about OPPOโ€™s evolving strategy to remain successful in the smartphone marketโ€™s ever-changing climate.

ย Change in Strategy

Entering the mobile phone market in May 2008, founder and CEO Tony Chen had two goals in mind: โ€œMake quality products and sell them well.โ€ Five years later, the goals remain the same but OPPO has undergone a makeover to stay relevant in a competitive industry.

Gizchina News of the week

OPPO had found past success with MP3s devices, Blu-ray players and feature phones. Upon entering the smartphone market, however, Chen realized, โ€œmore cross-team cooperation, more learning from each otherโ€™s ideas, and more passionโ€ was needed. OPPO was restructured so that, โ€œproducts formerly planned at the top of the company and relayed to the bottom were now planned top-bottom and bottom-up simultaneously.โ€

Another change came when OPPO leaders determined, โ€œrelying on hardware is not enough.โ€ Often revered for their devicesโ€™ sleek designs, OPPO has long placed great importance on the aesthetics of their products down to the hardware material and color palates. But more attention has since been focused on software development to provide consumers a more complete and original user experience. A large portion of OPPOโ€™s research and development is now being directed at creating competitive and innovative software in the form of Color ROM.

Quality First

Focused on โ€œalways making great devices that will surprise customersโ€, OPPO will continue to focus on just a few phones at a time. Itโ€™s a method that has worked in the past; in 2012, they launched less than ten smartphones, all of which shipped more than one million units.

OPPO believes there is still great opportunity in the smartphone market if they remain committed to releasing beautifully designed devices and providing their consumers the best possible service. Moving forward, they will continue to put โ€œquality firstโ€ and worry about turnover and net profit as an โ€œafterthought, after the primary job is done well.โ€

Yep. But I haven’t use this brand name phone before. Now I am using HTC dual sims 600 series (608T china version). ROM tuneup speed is very important.
