More details of Zopo’s 1080 phablet emerge

The 6-inch (?) Zopo phablet with be their first new phablet in almost a year and their first 1080 phone over 5-inches to date, so what about the rest of the phone.

We’ve published a few leaked photos of the new Zopo phablet, photos we have confirmed to be real by Zopo themselves (although they currently aren’t will ing to divulge more details), and today we have more information regarding this big screen handset.

Gizchina News of the week

For those of us hoping for Zopo to really set the phablet market on fire with this new model, you are going to be a little disappointed with the hardware as it reads much the same as similar handsets already on sale. According to reports the display is a 6-inch 1080 model, and it will come with a 1.5Ghz MT6589T processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB memory and 13 mega-pixel CMOS rear camera. The Chinese version of the phablet will run Aliyun OS based on Android, where as the international model will feature the standard Zopo ROM.

We can also expect a more rounded design (similar to the Zopo C3) along with narrow screen bezels to help keep the overall size down.

It all looks great on paper and will likely perform very well, however we really want to see Zopo take some risks and produce a phone to make a name for themselves rather than taking what other companies have already done and adding to it.
