Gizchina News of the week

Keeping costs down but ensuring enough power to run that large, high-resolution panel is a 1.5Ghz quad-core MT6589T processor from Mediatek and 2GB RAM. The processor is the same you would find in similar Chinese phones and as such it will support dual SIM cards, but only for the top of the range 16GB model (a cheaper 8GB version has a single SIM).

Other nice features of this stylish 1080 phablet include a rather larger 3400mAh battery, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front and SD card slot.

Alcatel have also created a rather exciting flip case for the One Touch Hero which incorporates an E-ink display. This allows you to check certain apps and read books, messages on the low-power E-ink display extending the overall run time of the phone.

Seems like a really good alternative to the Note 3. Wouldn’t mind getting one myself.

On a side note, have you get my email Andi?

I like it, could be the ideal phone for my wife as it could also replace her kindle which is on it’s last legs. Depends on the price, availability and size of the e-ink screen though. Have to wait for it and see

I hope I am wrong and wished TCL can simultaneously launch their products worldwide with Alcatel brand. This is the y910 that will be out later this month anytime in China. It probably won’t Alcatel till at least Xmas and more shockingly judging by how long it took the idol and scribe series may be Jan 14 !!!! By then it looks tired and old. Well if can’t wait its aliexpress and any reliable seller who will root the y910. 🙂

Nice idea, I like the size, the stylus pen, the dual sim card slots, (because I go back and forth between phones and do not use a micro sim). I like the built in stylus. I have seen a problem with some of Note phones, ,real and clones in that they advertise expandable storage, the phone configures the SD card but will not write to it are move things to it. The phones leave you with only the memory that came with the phone. A real problem as far as I am concerned. Yes this phone is big enough to use as as kindle reader, small tablet and larger video viewer, which is nice. One can easily get used to the size. I don’t like side flip cases. They fit into the hand wrong and irritate the soft skin between thumb and index finger. A flip up case may be preferable.

The phone that I was waiting for 🙂 The perfect price should be around $300 with basic flip case.
