Gizchina News of the week

Oddly the notification bar of the phone is showing signal strength for one single SIM, causing some to speculate that the Monkey King 2 might also be one of the first 4G LTE equipped phones from a local Chinese phone maker! Rumours suggest that the Monkey King 2 could actually support TD-LTE, LTE-FDD,TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM.

If these Chinese phones have 4G, does that mean that the 4G LTE will work in the USA, or only in China?

Also, does China plan on releasing tons of 4G phones late 2013/all of 2014? It’ll be amazing to get 4G phones if they work internationally.

It will depend; China mobile use 4G TD-LTE and 4G FDD-LTE; in France, 4G is FDD-LTE; the choice made in China, TD-LTE or FDD-LTE, will determine if the smartphones work internationnally.

Aside from td/fd lte ,the supported band frequency also a key to the support of North America/South America 4G market.
Currently China mobile is testing td-lte on band 7 2600mhz, unicom and china telecom is testing fd-lte on 2600mhz (cuz we can search both unicom and china telecom’s 4G test signal in shenzhen via those 4G phone currently being sold in hong kong) with the fd-lte 2600mhz support)
