6.5mm Bird Dragon XL packs 8-core MTK6592 processor

Chinese brand Bird are another of those very large companies which don’t receive all that much coverage on GizChina (due to their boring products) but they have suddenly become a whole lot more special with the launch of the 8-core Dragon XL.

Bird are one of the oldest Chinese phone makers, and although popular tend to busy themselves with producing low-end, affordable feature phones rather than all out Android smartphones.

Gizchina News of the week

However times have changed and Bird are looking to grab some of the growing smartphone market share with the new Dragon XL. Confusingly the Dragon XL doesn’t run a Qualcomm chip but rather an 8-core Mediatek MTK6592! Which is still more than impressive. Also of interest is the 6-inch 1080 display and 6.5mm body thickness!
