Verycool KolorPad with 7″ screen & 3G launched for $149

San Diego based Infosonics is a known name in the budget smartphone segment, and the verycool KolorPad T742 marks the company’s entry into the budget tablet market.

As the title mentions, the verycool KolorPad is a 7-inch device that comes with an on-board 3G modem. While this makes it clear that users will be able to surf the web on the go with the device, renders show a phone dialer which points to voice-calling features. However, this hasn’t been mentioned by Infosonics themselves and is something we can only speculate upon at this point in time.

Gizchina News of the week

The KolorPad comes with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, which clearly goes to suggest that the GSM/3G (HSDPA,  850/1900MHz) is what the device does best. Taking control on the software side of things is Android v4.2 Jelly Bean, which doesn’t happen to be the newest dessert flavour of choice at the moment. The KolorPad also packs a 3 mega-pixel and a 0.3 mega-pixel camera on the front and rear respectively to take care of your photography and video chat requirements.

WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and FM Radio make up for the connectivity segment on the KolorPad, powered by a rather teeny 2,500mAh battery. We’re still waiting to learn of other specifications on the tablet, including screen resolution. However we do know that the device comes with a USD 150 price tag in the USA.
