We first spotted the white Xiaomi Redmi months and months ago, even before the phone had an official English name! Finally it’s here, but as a China exclusive only for now.
Preparations for Xiaomi’s festival are in full swing and to celebrate Xiaomi are launching limited edition colour options for certain products. The Xiaomi Mi3 will be available in gold, the Xiaomi TV in red and the Xiaomi Redmi in all white.
It’s hard to believe the Redmi has been on sale for over a year now in China and still all those Xiaomi fans who appreciate the low-cost MIUI phone haven’t already bagged themselves one, but if they haven’t the white model could be the one to get especially when it will cost 100 Yuan less than usual!

So when can we expect the white Redmi to go on sale internationally? Well if it does make it’s way out of China it won’t be for months yet and anyone getting one of the few that do leak out of China will be upset to find that the first batch will only have TD-SCDMA support.
Is the Mediatek MT6589T Redmi still a phone you would consider? Is the new white colour option a must have?
I have to say it’s even uglier in white! Think other manufacturers have caught up and are playing Xiaomi at their own game (and doing it better).
