5.9mm Vivo X3S now on sale in Malaysia for $428

Only today did we talk about an alleged ultra-thin device that might be in the works at Vivo facilities, and here we have news of the uber-thin Vivo X3S going on sale in Malaysia.

Malaysia has been seeing a lot of love from Chinese manufacturers of late, and Vivo quite clearly don’t want to miss out on showing some from their side. The 5.9mm thick (thin?) Vivo X3S just went on sale in the country, with a price tag of RM 1,399 which translates to about $428.

Gizchina News of the week

The X3S is an updated, more powerful sibling of the Vivo X3, which once held the crown of being the slimmest Android smartphone. The X3S comes with an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, a 5-inch 1280 x 720p display, 1GB of RAM, a 13 mega-pixel f/1.8 rear camera, 5 mega-pixel front camera and a 2000mAh battery, all packed inside a 5.95mm body that reminds some of the iPhone.

Similarities with the Apple phone don’t end with the design; the device even runs a customized OS based on Android v4.2 that is made to resemble iOS 7 with bright colours and flat icons.

MTK6592 will eat away the 2000 mAh. Battery pretty soon..perhaps only USP is slimness..WTF..balance is what is required in a mobile phone…
