Awesome phone for all those wanting the specs of Motorola Moto G with an outdated Android version, 12 month less warranty and a higher price tag!

well… it depends… this has 4.7 screen and physical keys (vs 4,5 with virtual keys) and native miui support, quad core 1,6ghz against 1,2 and better gps than original mediatek processors, micro sd expansion, dual sim, you can change battery….
thanks to qualcomm processor you’ll have more roms available in the future as cyanogenmod and paranoidandroid…
I was waiting for this phone, but now I don’t know what to do: jiayu g4s for battery and price, or buy with my operator an lg g2 (14 euros month ffor 24 months + 79 first payment) or this phone or wait for zte redbull v5 wcdma version…
Good times to buy a new phone

I’m thinking the same . I will go with jiayu g4s it has the power and the battery but if this xiaomi had 2gb ram it will be nice that’s the big problem.
4g is not a problem running good with 3g if the network is working!

Hi, I had the Jiayu G4 Advanced and I had to sell it . The specs on paper look good but : The WI-FI and GPS sucked , the battery alltough it was 3000 mAh barely last a day with a normal usage . Games were very laagy . The camera was also not so great even with 13 MP . I used mostly MIUI rom but there are lots of flaws . I wouldn’t recomend Jiayu until they optimize their phones and a good rom . I would go for a Qualcomm platform.

hi mate, i am also interested in the jiayu G4S and was wondering if this smartphone has really wcdma 900Mhz frequency for france? by the way, the Hongmi 1s is really good looking too but i agree 1GB ram might not be enough for demanding programs these days. what about MI2S, i know that this mobile has been released a year ago? thanks, jm

Mi2s is good choice! Very good phone.plus the GPS is working! Normal size may smaller than G4s.
The price is high with shipping mi2s 235€ and the Jiayu g4s 155€.

I am seriously considering the Jiayu G4S. Xiaomi MI3S and Oneplus 1 might be too expensive and bigger for me because of the screen size. I am wondering when these phones will be available for order. Some phones quoted in the list above are difficult to find on the web or ebay.

I came across to the following phone Nibiru H1 which has an interesting price and quite heavy specs for the price.

I am really lost and I don’t know what to order seriously. It is a shame that the Hongmi 1S have only 1gb of ram, it would have been perfect for the price.

Mediatek? Motorola Moto G has the exakt same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 as this WCDMA 1S…
Native wannabe IOS? Cool for kids who like colorfull toys πŸ™‚

The LG G2 from your operator is way overpriced (14×24+79=415€!) as you can get in for 299€ in most european countries.

          May 6, 2014

moto g is 1,2ghz, I’m sure, miui has lot of natural functions that are not supported by usual clean android and lot of personalization options.
I’m not rich but I can pay 90 euros more divided in 2 years…not 325 (by now the best price I’ve seen from my country resellers, I’m just waiting to see what happens with lg3 announcement

*original xiaomi red rice was mediatek, I know moto g is snapdragon powered, but at 1,2ghz, not 1,6

        • patator
          May 6, 2014

          “exact same” …
          MOTO G : snapdragon 400 (8226) 1.2ghz
          Redmi 1S : snapdragon 400 (8628) 1.6ghz

Meh. The Redmi is way more functional than the Moto G. Dual sim slots, removable battery, an SD card slot, a faster processor, a larger display, a better camera and it’s cheaper than the Moto G (Moto G’s rrp is $179 for the 8GB version). MIUI is also lot more functional than stock, no matter how it looks. Not to mention changing to Nova Launcher brings just about the same experience and looks but with MIUI benefits. There’s literally no reason to get the G over this unless you’re a Moto fan.

            – removable battery for less compact casing? solid advantage!
            – 1 year warranty vs 2 years warranty? solid advantage again!
            – in case of defective device returning the phone somewhere to China with a high chance of neither seeing a new phone nor the money vs just going to the next local store and exchance the defective for a new one? Xiaomi ftw!!!
            – pricing? Moto G is 140 Euros (including VAT) all over Europe, while Redmis 1S is atleast 160 Euro (including VAT) in most european Countries
            – 4.3 MIUI more functional than 4.4 stock Android? Dream on…

I use a 30 of 32gb external memory… 16gb moto g costs about 180, I’m also tired of using a 4.5 display, also I prefer to have a better camera… I already had the chance to try a moto g, I love its design but is not suitable for me

-Almost anyone with a sensible mind will take a phone with a removable battery than one that doesn’t. It’s style over function, only a narcissist would take style.

-OK, you can have that. Not a solid reason, but fine.

-That’s your problem, I can go to a nearby Xiaomi experience store and get a new unit anytime. And a “high chance” of you’re phone going missing? If you’re super unlucky then maybe. That stuff rarely happens these days.

-The RRP of an 8GB Moto G in most European countries is actually 170 Euros. It’s supposed to be more expensive than the Redmi, and it is in almost every country that has the Redmi readily available.

-Honestly, this is up to your tastes. If you actually think Stock is more functional than MIUI than go ahead. I’m too busy playing around with my themes and shortcuts to bother.

In conclusion, you have proven for me that the good of the Redmi outweights it’s bad by a large portion. Not only that, but you’ve also proven that a person can be blinded by personal preferences and ignore facts altogether. Also, your little “solid advantage!” parts are annoying and immature. Please refrain from doing that, as it may be insulting to fans of Xiaomi.

Waiting for some 4G/lte phones to come but many of them are delaying their launch (aka Xiaomi mi3s, OPone, Vivo X3S, Jiayu, …). Any recommendation for a 4G/lte phone ? Is it worthy to wait for a 4G phone ?

    • Manos

Wait for Oneplus or Xiaomi Mi3S All the others the price will be too much ! Jiayu will late to make a 4g phone for sure.

      May 6, 2014

Hmph. They should’ve just taken the octa mediatek, bumped up the ram to 2gb and a 2500 or more battery. At $170 such a device would have been a market slayer. Imagine even $180 with otg and NFC, I would have bought it

Man it is becoming too hard! I was going to try the iNew v3 as my first new Chinaphone but the review about the battery put me off. I jumped on the Doogee turbo dg2014, was put off again! The list went on to either Jiayu S2( was a must until One+1 reared its head), which i dont know what is happening with it now, to Jaiyu G2F and now I am stuck with Jiayu G4s and Xiaomi Redmi 1s. I just wanted to see if it is really worth the buzz before I buy the One+1. Without a shadow of doubt the one+1 is a must but I just want to try something out first and it seems the safest bet is Xiaomi Redmi 1s. OH i was looking at the the Lenovo A850+ aswell hmmmmm.

Hey, which phone have you ordered? I am just curious, I would like to order the 1S but was wondering if it is worth to buy it considering the 1GB memory which might not be enough. I am also considering the Jiayu G4S which has a better battery and cpu. What’s the difference between Mediatek and Snapdragon? Any difference in battery optimization? I wanted to buy the Xiaomi MI2S first but its price with shipping is around 250€ which is expensive for a smartphone released more than a year ago. MI3 looks great but the built in battery is a negative point. Thanks.
