China’s Hisense launches the H6 TV: 55″ display with the goodness of Android

Hisense had been in the headlines a while back thanks to its slew of LTE-enabled smartphone launches. Now, the maker has gone a step ahead with the announcement of the H6 smart TV.

The H6 comes with a 1920 x 1080p resolution across a 55-inch panel, with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Although this is nowhere near as powerful as the Xiaomi smart TV (2nd gen), it still makes for quite decent a buy considering the price tag it comes with. The H6 is for sale just under $700, and is available across the Walmart chain.

The device comes with Android v4.2.2 out of the box, and has support for various connectivity features such as Bluetooth, WiFi and Ethernet. What’s more, the H6 comes with Google Play support as well; you’ll however have to do well to find apps that are suited for a 55-inch display.

With a handful HDMI input ports, the H6 also offers HDMI output, something not usually seen on such devices.

The H6 could make for a good option for those who want a device for casual browsing on the big screen, besides the usual entertainment purposes.
