Last week UMi released 1000 of their UMi Zero phones for sale to international customers, after selling out in a few minutes, the company are preparing a second blow out sale for tomorrow.

According to a Chinese news site YuGuo, UMi managed to sell 1000 UMi Zero phones in only 3 minutes in a sale on Aliexpress on the 16th December. The sale was such a success for the phone maker that an additional 1000 units was added to the sale in an attempt to satisfy demand.

Even with the additional stock there were plenty of hopeful customers that didn’t manage to get their phones, so a second sale will kick off tomorrow (23rd December). This time around the price of the UMi Zero has been raised slight to $204.99, but comes with a FREE flip cover worth $14.99. The sale won’t start until tomorrow but a preview of the activity can be seen here.

Pretty sure the official UMI site is http://www.91umi.com but either way, this phone really sparks my interest as a decent, lightweight, smaller-sized android phone to carry easily and the first UMI phone to really catch my eye since owning the Cross 6.4″ which I loved. Go UMI.

You are all witnessing a massive media attack , including this article. Manufacturer tries to create artificial scarcity to make the phone look desirable and hard to get a-la OnePlus. These articles including last week “exclusive” interview with CEO bring nothing to readers.

Strange how the counter said 330 remaining many hours after the sale started. I kept checking back during the day as I was considering buying one.
