this is your number 1 phone, not meizu mx 4/pro? Because I don’t know what to buy – meizu, OPO or LG G3… Which phone has best camera

          January 1, 2015

Get lg3 its a good phone. Opo have bad camera.

Vivo Xshot has the best camera.

          January 2, 2015

Of those 3 I would get the Meizu (assuming you mean the Mx4). Meizu has better software than either of them and one of the best cameras available.

If it had the same price tag with mx4 I would really be interested to buy it after all you have said about it.

Waiting for my xshot to arrive. Andy which version of rom are you using on your xshot?

Over the moon with my Mi4. Solid build and lightning fast. Had THL T11 prior to that and was happy with it. Mi4 is awesome. Like Balcobomber mentioned, It really is a tough device.

I’ve got a MI4 as well and I’m overall satisfied. I was expecting from xiaomi a better screen though. The tempered glass delayed to be delivered and in a week of careful use it got a scratch. I’m so pissed!

      • January 1, 2015

That’s strange. I love the screen on my Mi 4, and have been using it without any screen protector/case and there’s not a single scratch. Hope you get your screen protector soon!

        • MaxPower
          January 1, 2015

I got one, plus the mofi flip case. Thankfully the scratch was very light, but you can understand how bummed I was after only one week of use

        • balcobomber25
          January 1, 2015

Yea I have used mine since launch and don’t use a case or screen protector and have no marks or scracthes on it.

    • Airyl
      January 1, 2015

Get the Find 7A and then apply a custom ROM.

      • David Košič

the custom rom will ruin the camera

Exactly! “TWEAKING” thats the big important word on android phones. The thing is
people dont want to tweak its OS settings to camera settings. I am not a
big fan of iphone however i need a phone that have good camera on auto
mode, AND the only phone that have great imaging processing on AUTO MODE camera on a phone is an iphone.

The only android phone that have good camera on AUTO mode is OPPO Find 7 series in 2014 in my opinion but they have super sh*tE OS as i said above!. I just want a phone that have a good camera to take pictures with when am Smashed out of my face in a night club that i dont need to “TWEAK” the settings! Why the fuck i want to take a RAW pictures or compensate my iso or slowdown my shutter speed! Why cant
android phone manufacturers provide these 2 features?

          • balcobomber25
            January 4, 2015

Plenty of Android phones do and they were all mentioned in the previous comment you made which is exactly the same as this one.

    • SnowyCat
      January 6, 2015

or get a opo and color os and have a amazing camera ?

i dont know what everyone has against colorOS, yes i love EMUI more but coloOS is also stutterfree smoth and nice looking ~

Not to mention the FDD-LTE-band selection (for European customers) on the dualsim-phones, which only one phone (P3000/s) of your list fit at all.

I’d really love to see more phones with FDD B3/7/20 AND dualsim.

      … now I’m finished. 🙂

    My top 3 for 2014:

I bought IUNI U3 2 weeks ago for myself and satisfied.

      My top 3:
      – Meizu MX4
      – Nubia Z7 mini
      – Jiayu S2

Am planning to buy the z7 mini… nice sd 801 cpu AND Dual sim!

Where do you bought your IUNI U3?

      • Yury
        January 2, 2015

My chinese friends bought and sent it to me.
But you can easily buy it on aliexpress with worldwide shipping for about 360-370$ (but without customs fees included if required).

I got mine for 2000 RMB in China and really like the phone, more so than my old Xiaomi 3.

  6. David Košič
    January 1, 2015

Well from this list I was the most impressed by oneplus one, then both Huawei honor phones, then the Nubia z7 2K and lastly the Mi4.

However if I had to give an award for the best android phone of 2014 it would probably go to the Note 4 easily. Yes it is expensive but for a good reason.

  7. balcobomber25
    January 1, 2015

At different points of this year I had a Mi4, Kingzone K1, Gionee 5.5 and Nubia Z7 (2k). My favorite phone though has been one which doesn’t compete with any of those, the Doogee Turbo DG 2014.

On paper it isn’t even in the same category as any of those phones, it has a last gen processor, not enough memory and a small battery. In the real world though there isn’t much I don’t love about this phone. It has some of the best build quality of any phone I have ever used. The 720p screen looks better than some FHD screens I have on other phones. After some tweaking the camera has been very good. And it came running what is basically stock 4.4 Android. All for $120 retail ( I got mine as a gift from a supplier).

man u r so serious ! u should have written ur own china’s gadget blog , of u already hav one ?

      • balcobomber25
        January 3, 2015

Just an enthusiast. One who also happens to work in the industry. I work for a company based in South Korea (although I work in Thailand) that acts as a middleman between suppliers (think Mediatek, Corning Gorilla Glass etc) and the OEM’s who build the phones. I work on the marketing side but I often get free or deeply discounted phones.

  8. Miko
    January 1, 2015

Meizu MX4 was my choice. I don’t know how other phones are but I’m really satisfied with this phone.

  9. zhongtiao1

What I would like in a phone for 2015 is a phone with a 30mp or higher camera and maybe even 4k video recording. While it is under 4.7 inches for the screen

    • balcobomber25
      January 4, 2015

Why 30mp or higher? It’s not going to necessarily mean a better picture. A better camera sensor will do a lot more for image quality than higher mp’s.

      • zhongtiao1
        January 6, 2015

Yes, but a say 1 inch sensor is not cheap (look at the Panasonic dmc cm1) if they keep the size small but increase the megapixel count they can easily bring the price down as the amount of tech it would need would be less overall

Not mentioned, but I’m loving my Nubia V5 Max the screen, speed and battery make it perfect for me.

My Kingzone K1 Turbo is seriously one of the best phones I’ve used. The build quality is very good, the screen is outstanding and the reception & sound/call quality is super.

    January 3, 2015

After having phones made by Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi and IUNI in the last 4 years I have to give my vote to the IUNI U3. I love the ROM and the quality of the phone for the price.

  13. Shashank
    January 3, 2015

i will not Vote One Plus One and also dont see it best because what is the use of such High End Feature phone which you cant buy easily or you have to depend on other for Invitation, this is crap while others phones today or tomorrow you can buy it!

What phones have you used exactly? Most phones these days take pictures just fine, especially ones like the Vivo Xshot, Meizu MX4 and the OnePlus One.

    • balcobomber25
      January 4, 2015

Anyone of the flagship phones Xshot, Mi4, Mx4, OPO, Honor 6, Nubia all take excellent photos without having to mess with any settings. You don’t need to “tweak” a thing with anyone of these. Even most midrange phones take very good pictures without having to ever adjust the settings. I used several 8mp camera from Gionee that were top notch in phones that cost less than $200.

And those are just the Chinese Android phones. LG, Sony and Samsung all have great cameras too in most of their models.

My son has a OnePlus One but he prefers his old Samsung Note because the OnePlus drains the battery in 2 days, even in idle mode (with fly mode activated) and this makes him crazy. I have looked at the OnePlus carefully and I don’t understand the fuss about that phone, except that it has a very good quality / price ratio. Price aside, I clearly prefer my Find 7 and even more my Vivo Xshot. I wait for the Vivo X5 max impatiently. I think Vivo makes the most impressive phones. At a cost, I agree. I have also started to look at the Nubia range from ZTE.

  22. January 10, 2015

according to our sales, it is oneplus one i think.
