20nm MT6796 chipset leaked on roadmap

http://mtksj.com/html/MTKshoujizixun/10559.html

Mediatek won’t be slowing down this year and plan to launch the 20nm MT6796 64bit later in the year.

Mediatek announced the the MT6795 back in Q4 of 2014, and so far we haven’t seen a phone launch with the 64bit Snapdragon 810 killer. Phones are expected though and we should see the first devices hit stores around MWC time. So will that be it from the Taiwanese chip maker? Well no, as another processor named the MT6796 will be unveiled in Q4 of 2015.

Gizchina News of the week

The new processor was leaked in a roadmap for Mediatek’s 2015 launch earlier today, and reveals the octacore MT6796 will be made on a 20nm 64bit architecture. 20nm will allow for better performance, lower energy requirements and cooler operating temperatures.

Although the MT6796 will be officially announced in Q4, don’t expect phones with the chip to go on sale until around this time next year.

This was already ‘leaked’ a good few weeks ago and covered here on Gizchina. Still no clue as to what cores/GPU it will running however, looking at the roadmap it seems it will be below the current 6595/6795 so nothing to get excited about. Like you said it won’t be available until next year, probably round March/April judging by the speed MT actually get these chips out. I’m guessing they won’t announce next year’s high end chip till much later in the year.

MT6795 still seems like an octacore Cortex-A53 considering Gfxbench and Geekbench results.

I guess they will develop an octacore A53 again. Could be clocked to 2.5-2.7GHz if that’s possible.

lol that roadmap was leaked a long time ago and there is no guarantee that it hasn’t changed.
The naming the source and you claim makes no sense since it’s clearly positioned bellow the 6795.The timing is for shipping so it was supposed to be shipping in Q4 this year.

Their MT6752 chip is no slouch although it’s clocked at 1.7GHZ it has 64-Bit architecture. Many of these Chinese Smartphones are packed with good features and good build quality. I have one of these newer devices that’s now running Lollipop…the things has a 1080p display and runs like a charm. I paid only $180 I mean it has NFC too and a Sony camera…how can you go wrong. People laugh at these devices but you know what…I have Lollipop on my phone and other flagships here in the states are still waiting on it…who’s laughing now!

what phone did you buy man? and is audio quality from headphone jack good? I’m personally planning on a chinese phone, how ever I’m worried about quality. I know xiaomi and oneplus make high quality stuff, I’m just unsure of the small brand stuff. (elephone for example)

thx for the reply. sorry for my late reply. I got a budget of $350, so i might get a mi 5 or the next oneplus one. However, these smaller oems are very good too, might spend $200 on a phone and get a shield tablet for the side. Love the looks on the KingZone Z1. i just need a phone with hi fi audio, good build qulity, good camera and LTE.
          Thanks again for the reply.

wait a minute, the king zone DOES have LTE! and a huge 3500 mha battery pack. I’m buying one in april to replace my ageing iPhone 4. Apple and samsung use to have an edge, and now they’ve just lost it. and also lost their minds when it comes to pricing
