No.1 continue down a rugged path with the M2

no1 m2 rugged phone

No.1 have made the switch from clone makers to rugged phone suppliers, the latest in the lineup being the 4.5-inch M2 with Android 5.0.

While No.1 never really impressed us with their range of knock off phones, we do like the look of their rugged devices. The fact that No.1 have realised a rugged device need not be a basic smartphone has opened up the possibilities for how these waterproof and shock resistant phones can be used.

Gizchina News of the week

Like all rugged phones the M2 is basically a rubberized brick with a touch screen and Android smart features included. What we have in this case is a 4.5-inch display, Android 5.0 Lollipop and IP68 certification. We’re not sure on the full specs but we hope at least a Mediatek MT6732 chip, LTE and 2500+mAh battery will also be part of the package.

Are rugged phones likely to take the place of your regular smartphone for day to day use?

Bought NO.1 X1 recently, worst phone I have used, ever. Buggy and slow system, faked Android version and subpar build (I mean, 1 little screw holds the USB flap so it’s waterproof only as long as it’s not in the water).

I’m saying this so maybe some people won’t jump the gun when this phone releases.

It would be a real treat if the writer would physically use the device before writing articles that influence many purchasers.
