April 23rd will launch the first launch anniversary of the OnePlus ‘Flagship Killer’ One smartphone. Despite its age in the market, the phone continues to receive updates.

OnePlus announced via its forums that the company will be seeding the OTA update to Android 5.0 Lollipop based OxygenOS for the OnePlus One before 27th March, i.e., 9 days from now. Not only that, OnePlus also note that CyanogenMod 12S for the phone (based on Lollipop) will too come this month, 3 days after the last date for the OxygenOS OTA, i.e., on March 30th.

Gizchina News of the week

Admittedly, it took a little more time than we had planned, but we only release updates that we are proud of; that means refusing to take shortcuts or deliver sub-par experiences.

The OnePlus One (international variant) was announced with Android KitKat overlaid with popular 3rd party ROM CyanogenMod 11S. About the jump to Android 5.0 Lollipop, the company seems pretty serious; they’re promising to give away 5 OnePlus One phones (for all its worth) if either of the two deadlines are missed.

Feels like I’ve been waiting since forever for this!!! 2 of my colleagues each have a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 6 and they keep rubbing it in my face with there Official Lollipops!!! Soon I’ll be able to show them CMs take on Android 5 though 🙂 (None of them have tap-to-wake gestures… ;-))

Ye man! And they’ll get more of my money when I can get a PowerBank out of them and possibly the OPO2 if it’s any good! Or I might jump ship to the MiNote Pro at that point, or whatever else is around mid-year this year… Exciting times indeed! WOOP WOOP!

Considering he spent less than half the money compared to buying the humungous Nexus 6 ….. whats the bad ?

also Motorola phones leave a lot to be desired , it’s no wonder the nexus 6 got so many bad reviews

Nexus 5 was a beast though, Lg was a better choice than motorola.hopefully the next nexus is a better.

No doubt Motorola s software is great cause they use stock , I was talking about camera and battery. Also yes the moto g and moto e are actually great phones for the.price.
