If you thought the Elife E8 was the only trick Gionee had up their sleeve then you would be wrong! A new Marathon serious phone with dual battery set up is also about to make serious waves!

Gionee have making headlines these days for the Elife E8 and it’s incredible camera specifications that are just being teased ahead of launch, but if uber fast performance isn’t the only thing on your mind and battery life is paramount then the M5 is one to watch out for.

Teased yesterday, the Gionee M5 will be the next inline to take the title of flagship Marathon phone in the Gionee lineup. So far very little us known about the hardware other than the device will ship with a dual battery set up good for 4 days of continuous use!

Gizchina News of the week

We’ve spoken to a few of our contacts in China who have let slip that the Gionee M5 will get 6000mAh in total, a huge amount energy for a cell phone and more than enough to keep your phone plus other devices running for a few days.

We assume that Gionee will try to make the rest of the hardware as energy friendly as possible with a 720HD display, 2GB RAM and a low power quad-core CPU, but then again they might surprise us here to.

Keep posted for more Gionee news as we get it.

In the vein of Innos D6000.

The M3 (Marathon) is quite bad. I hope this one will not follow in its footsteps.

Gionee seam to really look for what the public wants, maybe my next phone will be Gionee. I might switch from Jiayu, if they don`t come up with the S4 within the next 3-4 months.
