We’ve seen this before, specifically in the case of the OnePlus One (which was very similar in design and specifications to the OPPO Find 7). The new Vibe P1 from Lenovo, which incidentally also happens to be the parent company for ZUK, bears uncanny resemblance to the ZUK Z1.
Nonetheless, let’s shift the focus to the Vibe P1 here, for the phone does have some decent specs. The phone boasts a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD display, with a camera department consisting of a 13 mega-pixel main shooter on the rear and a 5 mega-pixel front. It also has a 5000mAh battery which easily is going to be the selling point for the phone.
We first glimpsed the Vibe P1 back in July, thanks to leaks from TENAA. Despite the fact that the phone is scheduled to launch only at IFA 2015, almost every spec detail for the Vibe P1 is already out in the wild.

The 5000mAh cell will take a while to charge, and to reduce that, Lenovo will ship the phone with a 24-watt fast charger. Besides, there’ll be a Snapdragon 615 octa-core CPU powering the phone with 3GB RAM and 16GB on-board expandable storage. Another phone that launched today with the Snapdragon 615 was the US$140 Smartisan U1.

no, they hate it too.
I think he means more the western tech bloggers who go crazy over anything with the word Snapdragon in front of it. And still think Mediatek means poor performance.

Go to anyone of the western Android review sites, Android Authority, Phone Dog, CNET, etc they all have at least one usually multiple writers with that level of thinking.
i certainly don’t consider it flagship, but my wifes alcatel onetouch idol 3 really runs quite nicely on the SD615. It isn’t something that would put me off. I’d rather go with the old SD801, however
The 615 is a decent processor as long as you dont do anything processor intensive. For normal day to day use people will never notice any issues but once you try to task the processor it can be incredibly sluggish and start to heat up. The 6752 would have been a better choice it has consistent performance no matter what you do.
Snapdragon sounds better than mediatek! People in the west they don’t care whether its sh1te or not. If its sounds good and looks good they will buy it.

I was just about to fap on this, but then “Snapdragon 615” came out… Why in the world haven’t they put in a sd808 or helio x10?! If you’re not going to use a power-efficient soc, then use a powerful one! With 615 they really achieved all the worst sides: low raw power, great batterydrain, heat issues… Thaks folks!
Really hope in a china version that will boost a mediatek chip… They already did such things in the past…
hmm, let’s see: for those who don’t play heavy games, the speed of the 615 is more than enough; its relative power inefficiency is not going to matter much given the huge battery (and do remember that the SoC is far from being the heaviest battery user — the screen dwarves it by an order of magnitude, followed by the modem); finally, Snapdragon means that the likelihood of quality third-party ROMs appearing is far greater. nah, not a problem at all.
I’m not a “mobile gamer” or whatever they call themselves, but it’s not all about “play havy games”. It’s about the power/efficiency ratio, and here many other socs are miles ahead of 615. And, if you mind, if i buy a long-lasting phone, i expect it to last as much as it’s possible, i just can’t go along with your statement of “battery is huge, don’t mind if the soc use it badly”. Plus, other chips have better gpu, which, if i don’t get it wrong, is quite useful in many situations, not just playing games.
At last, sd615 seems to have heating issues, resulting further more in a downscaling in both raw power and efficiency… And, if lenovo won’t provide the source codes, all we will have is some porting, just like on mediatek socs…

Why you are talking about 3GB RAM? According to all speces sourcs it’s a 2GB RAM phone. Or maybe improved version is coming soon?
