Nope it was a false spec I think before the release. It’s the only fact that’s holding me to buy this.

I think there is no big deal to go from the advanced to prime version if it’s only the +0.2Ghz that matters. The 16GB to 32G is not a big deal cause the phone
      supports micro SD

Difference is the amount of build in memory and the speed of the processor. RAM is the same.

ist there difference in gpu speed. some info says prime has gpu clocked at 700Mhz vs 550Mhz on regular. do you know if that’s true?

        Will you review it Andi?
(Is there a way to get around the new “big picture” home page? Now it needs a lot of scrolling at least on my laptop. …and I see a lot of redundant links.)

Pity it doesn’t have 4G 800/900. You pretty much need those in the Netherlands (and I suppose in other European countries as well?), next to 1800/2600.

I have the regular Note 2 here in Spain and works fine.

Not saying it won’t work. From what I read, the lower 800/900 give better reception indoors than 1800/2600. Here in The Netherlands every provider uses a combination of low (800 or 900) + hi (1800 or 2600).

Whether the 4G is compatible with Band 3(FDD LTE 1800 MHz) and Band 40(TDD LTE 2300 MHz)?

Well I just received my Xiaomi Note 2 Prime from some nice folks that have an Aliexpress store. They arranged so that I didn’t pay any EU customs and the phone was sent via DHL from the UK…. The whole thing cost me just $210 and yeah while you can always add an SD card and 0.2 GHz isn’t that much it’s nice to have unified fast storage and also those extra 0.2 GHz … meh for a few bucks more might as well …

I wouldn’t really recommend the phone just yet for anyone who isn’t a phone geek as currently there’s no global MIUI ROM available for it. The Phone will ship with a Chinese Developer ROM which is still in beta testing and has some bugs and other issues for international users. Eventually there should be a global ROM available and you might need to flash it and reinstall your apps at some point. So unless you want to deal with that I’d recommend waiting for the global release or perhaps go for another model like the Mi 4i which also has a slightly nicer screen (which might use less battery too?).

But I’d definitely recommend the shop.gizchina.com site. I used them and the delivery to the UK was really quick.

so does that mean that there is no google play store available? or has things changed in those 11 days? 🙂

Google Play can be installed of course and it might even come preinstalled by the reseller. Just meant that you probably will need to deal with manually installing them or flashing different ROM versions yourself eventually. The Chinese ROM doesn’t have too much bloat but there are still some China specific apps and settings around. (Themes, Music, Videos apps etc)
