Mid-range HTC One A9 leaked in an array of colors

HTC hasn’t been having a pleasant year so far with the One M9 turning out to be a huge disaster and their sales plummeting faster than a bullet, the company’s situation is looking bleaker and bleaker by the second. Despite that, HTC is still planning to release something new next week, and by the looks of it that something new is probably the HTC One A9.

The HTC One A9 will be an upper mid-range device, with a brand new Snapdragon 617 processor running the show. Alongside that, the One A9 will also sport 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, a 13MP rear camera, a 4MP front facing Ultrapixel camera and a tiny 2150mAh battery to keep everything powered.

Gizchina News of the week

On the features list, the HTC One A9 rocks a front facing fingerprint scanner right below it’s screen and a 7mm Apple inspired metal unibody design that comes in 6 different and oddly names colors. A surprising omission from the leaked images however are HTC’s signature front facing BoomSound speakers, which might deter people from buying the device.

That’s the HTC One A9. What do you think of the device? Are you looking forward to seeing it in action? Tell us in the comments below.

HTC needs to fix their horrible screen/body ratio, after that their horrible price tags and then we’ll be talking again.

None of those colors really excite me enough to pay $300-400 for a mid range phone with a tiny battery. HTC used to make excellent phones but they got too big, too fast and since then it has been on a downward spiral.

Badly designed in details IMO, like back camera positioning (maybe they should call it HTC One Cyclops), uneven placement of the sensor, earpiece and camera on the front and fingerprint scanner is uncomfortably close to the bottom because that damn logo. Nobody cares their logo, why it’s so important for them?

    The SD617 isn’t a good choice. It’s basically SD615 with a few new features.

Worse, knowing HTC it will be priced twice as its worth. So it will be another loser for the company most likely.

    Nice colors though.

With all the other models the front logo was useless and annoying, but here the front and back logo are more important than ever: otherwise, how would tell if it’s an htc or an iphone?! 😀

Really sad to see HTC falling off like this, with some weak, over priced mid range iPhone clone. Hope it doesn’t come too Europe or the US and ruin their rep even more.
