MeegoPad just put Windows 10 on a projector (or the other way round?)

meegopad-t08If not anything else, you got to give credit to MeegoPad for being the pioneers of cheap mini Windows PCs in China. If you don’t remember, MeegoPad were the guys behind the T01 mini PC, which was the first thumb-drive sized PC on the planet. It came before, and for cheaper than, the Intel Compute Stick.

The very folks have now tried another experiment, that of putting a projector on a mini PC. Dubbed the MeegoPad T08, it comes with anĀ Intel Atom Cherry Trail processor (eitherĀ Atom x5-Z8300 or x5-Z8500) and will offer up to 4GB of RAM, 64GB ROM, with of course, Windows 10 out of the box.

Gizchina News of the week

A nice and chunky 12,000mAh battery sits inside the mini PC. This isn’t the first time a maker has put a projector on a Windows PC; Pipo have done it in the past, but with a slight variation of the device having a screen.

What makes the MeegoPad T08 further interesting is that it has not only an HDMI output port, but also an input; what this means is that you can use it as a standalone projector for other devices. Pretty neat indeed.

There’s no word on the projector resolution and/or the retail price of this new gadget, but if you’re a wholesaler you can get these at $300/piece at Alibaba with an MOQ of 100 units.

I really wish they didn’t use the Meego name from Meego/Harmattan. Even something like PicoPad would’ve been better (and more descriptive to boot).
