Snapdragon 810 powered Yu Yutopia coming 7th December

After having a fairly successful time with their first bunch of entry-level and mid-range phones, India’s Yu seems to be geared up to take on the high-end/flagship smartphone market.

While it would be unfair to say that the Snapdragon 810 is the most powerful mobile SoC around, we have to admit it is indeed fairly powerful, and should be considered a step forward for a company as young as Yu.

Gizchina News of the week

The Yu Yutopia will have the Snapdragon 810 SoC along with either 3GB or 4GB RAM, a 5.2-inch 2560 x 1440 pixel (aka 2K) screen, 32GB on-board ROM, a 21 mega-pixel rear camera and an 8 mega-pixel front-facing camera.

There’s no word on pricing, but Yu will try and price the Yutopia somewhere around how much the OnePlus 2 costs… because that the phone that is going to be the closest competitor for the Yutopia.

If you remember, Yu (a Micromax subsidiary) was also the reason why OnePlus’ partnership with Cyanogen Inc. fell out.
