Ulefone Paris X gets lower spec and slightly lower price tag

ulefone paris x

Ulefone made the odd and unpopular decision to downgrade the latest Be Touch 3, now they are doing the same for the Ulefone Paris X which will see lower hardware at only a $10 saving.

With a name like the Ulefone Paris X, you would be forgiven for thinking that this is an updated version of the Ulefone Paris. Perhaps this new ‘X’ edition would get a FHD display, octacore chipset and more RAM? Those were my first thoughts too, but I was wrong.

Gizchina News of the week

The Ulefone Paris X is actually a new budget version of the Ulefone Paris, with largely the same hardware with only difference made to the chipset and the rear camera. The original Paris had a 1.3Ghz octa-core MT6753 where as the Paris X is 1.0Ghz quad-core, and the 13 mega-pixel OV sensor has now been downgraded to a Sony IMX166 8 mega-pixel.

Those few differences mean only a $10 difference in price between the current Ulefone Paris and the new Ulefone Paris X, and I’m not sure that’s a tempting enough saving to choose one over the other. What do you guys think?

    Paris is a 6753 phone not 6735

Andi is right, Paris with MTK6753 and Paris x with MTK6735. The 2 chipsets have different clock speed and numbers of cores but the cores are both cortex-A53. Besides, the GPU of the two Soc are exactly the same. So i guess their is little difference in performance.

This is ulefone Paris X,6753 and 6735 are a same GPU(Mali-T720)Game performance gap should be minimal.

This makes no sense at all for a $10 saving to the buyer.. Bizarre..

For many people, ulefone Paris is a better choice, ah, because they do not like to play games, you only need a smart mobile devices to meet the daily use. ulefone Paris exterior design is very good, full-featured, satisfy most people’s needs, but not for geeks Ulefone Paris, because he is after all not a flagship phone.

Ulefone Paris is perhaps the best gaming phone at its price.

Of course, Ulefone Paris the price is not the price of a flagship machine, a lot of people can easily buy.

Sony IMX166 is rumored the best 8MP phone camera sensor so far. But seems Paris X is the world’s only phone packing the stuff (google it). In this sense, Paris X is unique. LOL.

I want to say, I have not heard Sony IMX166 camera, we expect results.

Apple has been using 8MP back camera for his life, only increase the pixels to 12 million on iPhone 6s recently, and only to enable 4K video recording. Many reviews show that the upgrade does not really improve image quality. So i guess 8MP will not be bad. 8MP will be a lighter work for the GPU and will be less energy comsuming. That’s fine for a phone with not so big battery like Paris.

The energy consuming will be unnoticable, the pros of a lower megapixel sensor are faster shutter speed, and if it’s a quality sensor it could also mean bigger light input for better low light performance.

ulefone is not apple, so if they can’t get decent results with 13mpx units, just wonder what they will do with 8!

Releasing this so soon probably an attempt to boost Paris sales by making that look more of a bargain.

is this a joke? they are just using paris name to try to sell an overpriced device and make some bucks, quite lame actually.
