Video: Ulefone Power fast charges in 2 hours

A huge 6050mAh battery no longer means crazy long charging times as Ulefone shows us in this Ulefone Power charging test.

Fast charging technology really started to take off last year, and with Mediatek offering their own ‘Pump Express’ solution, phones running the Taiwanese companies SoC’s an also take advantage of faster recharge times.

The Ulefone Power uses a 9V 2-3A fast charger (below) which quickly pushes energy in to the 6050mAh Sony Li-polymer battery. The result is a complete charge time of 2 hours, or 51% in just an hour.

With the most recent update my Meizu MX5 with 3050mAh can charge from 0-100% in about 50 minutes, so this is pretty good for a 6050mAh.

Before the last update by Meizu it would take just about an hour to go from 0-100%, the last few updates they worked on optimization.

MX5 also packs an MTK chipset. So seems MTK’s Pump Express is not worse than Qualcomm quick charge at all.

I think it’s more about each company optimizing it for their phone. Meizu has spent the last 9 months optimizing the MX5, with each new update the charging times have been less and less. When I first got the phone it took about 70 minutes to go from 0-100. But I have seen other MTK powered phones with similar size batteries that take a lot longer.

Don’t know what to think honestly, specs are similar to mi4 and vivo xshot, but I’m certain it won’t be the same thing… Moreover, I’m too much used to my actual phone’s camera, wich is great, so i know i have some high standards to beat ?

However, i can roll with a “decent-in-sunlight” camera like some devices we’ve seen before, but I’ll believe it only when many users will tell it’s so: I’m always sceptical when just one reviewer say something πŸ™‚

The difference between companies like Vivo/Xiaomi and companies like Ulefone/Elephone when it comes to cameras usually lies in the details that aren’t on the spec sheet: optics and software. The cheaper brands will usually use the same sensors but cheaper lenses and they usually don’t optimize the camera for their phones (there are exceptions). The larger companies usually do.

I know, what I was trying to say it’s that I’m quite sure camera won’t be as good as it could sound on paper, and looking back to all 2015’s promises about the imx218 sensor I think it’s hard to blame me for my scepticism πŸ˜€

Hi! I’m having problems with battery draining (less than 2 days instead of previous 3 – 4 for normal – low usage) but especially in charging times.. it keeps charging even for 8 hours (instead of 1.30/2 hours previously) without arriving at full charge… these conditions changed in few days.. I don’t think the problem is the battery.. In android settings I noticed there is a constantly active radio signal.. before that, few nights ago while charging on another electric socket (still in my house) i noticed the charger was becoming really hot.. from that time it doesn’t get warm no more as usual rimaining cold.. Has my charger lost its fast charge feature? How can I stop that radio signal? Heeelp please
