Lenovo K5 Note launched in China, costs 1099 Yuan

lenovo k5 note launched in China

1099 Yuan is a the cost of a brand new Lenovo K5 Note in China, which brings the price level with the Meizu Metal and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

Lenovo have just announced pricing for the Lenovo K5 Note in China, and as we suspected the phone is priced to compete with rival devices from both Xioami and Meizu.

Lenovo have built the K5 Note around a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 FHD display and given it a similar rounded design to both the Meizu Metal (Meizu Metal hands on) and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 review here and here), in fact the camera and fingerprint location of the new Lenovo matches the Redmi Note 3 perfectly.

Lenovo K5 Note Specifications

lenovo k5 note launched in China

While physically the same there are some differences in hardware. The chipset in the Lenovo K5 Note is a Mediatek Helio P10 running at 2.0Ghz 1.8Ghz (similar to the Elephone P9000). The phone also only has 2GB RAM, 16GB memory but there is space for a micro SD card.

Dolby Atmos is a neat feature to find on the budget phone and should mean much more impressive audio performance over its rivals. Other features include a 3500mAh battery, dual SIM, 8 mega-pixel front camera and 13 mega-pixel rear.

Compared with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Meizu Metal and LeTV Le1s (LeTV Le1s review) would you opt for the Lenovo K5 Note?

The P10 and lesser RAM seem like a downgrade, but I may be wrong. But you can’t go wrong with the biggest battery, and that’s in the Redmi Note 3

The RAM is a definite downgrade not sure what they are thinking there. The P10 could be a downgrade depending on your usage.

It is P10 but the MT6755m at 1.8Ghz. The P10 should be a lot kinder on the battery , curious how it does with 3500mAh, should be a big plus over the models with MT6795. Ofc vs the Note 3 Pro , perf wise,it’s well behind.

Its a good alternative. But definitely redmi note 3 pro wins with the snapdragon 650 processor, 3gb ram, 16mp camera and 4000 mah battery.

      • Steven Fox
        January 25, 2016

This is not MiUI, Lenovo’s Vibe is not that RAM-hungry, neither is the chip power hungry(no big A72 cores), so in theory this should last longer than the Note 3 Pro, but will be 20% off the GPU/CPU performance.
Still plenty for playing games and everyday activities.
One thing I don`t really like is that it`s such a CLONE of the Redmi Note 3, I wish Lenovo would have used a more original design.

          agree on the last point.

you offer a good argument tho … but it remains to be seen how this goes up against other phones of the same mantle and price range . obviously , resellers will inflate it to a level which makes it prone to rash prejudice from int’l customers !
