Watch: Elephone’s ‘bezel-less’ S3 on video

Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra said the other day that there are no ‘truly’ bezel-less phones. Up and coming Chinese phone makers though, seem to have a different idea about them.

We recently saw Chinese phone maker Ulefone demo its bezel-less Future. Elephone are a company that can’t be tied down, and they already have competition ready in the form of the Elephone S3.

The phone was recently filmed on tape for a bit of a hands on video by the factory.

Take a look at the video below:

Gizchina News of the week

Must admit, the S3 looks like quite a decent phone. The Ulefone Future too is a device that’s hard to miss, but the company kind of lost me with the rear of the Future.

Nonetheless, despite not being the crowd favourite Elephone remain to be one of the most enterprising phone brands. Let’s hope to see a refined nearly bezel-less phone from them!

Skip to 1:06 and pause it, you can faintly see a black bezel on both sides. At 2:00 you can see it around the entire screen. Looks like Hugo might be right, but I give Elephone credit that is pretty damn close to bezeless (although personally I prefer a bezel on the sides.).

The first time I saw the video, got an idea in mind that the person shows the device only at certain angles that help to sustain the bezeless effect lol

Yea the way he was holding it you could tell he was trying to hide it. It is very very close to bezeless but not quite there.

yea … it had some features better and some of them worse … esp and unfortunately the cam , which a/c the the editors here was a huge let down.

but it did a bit better than its predecessors … fingers crossed for S3.

The protruding camera, the uninspired design and the iphoneish look… Well at least those three things lost me too 😛

i have no trouble with a protruding camera (unless its a technical defect , is it ?) and no problems with design and looks as well as long as the heart of the phone is golden. than and the cam.

        lets see how it performs.

Well it surely have less bezel than the MI 5. Ulefone & Elephone must be grinning with Hugo Bara’s remark.

If this is “bezel-less” than Hugo is correct and there is no such thing.

I found on other review that the Elephone S3 only has a 2100mAh battery, is it real? Compare to the other MTK6753 mid-range smartphone, Oukitel k6000 pro has 6000mAh battery and with a lower price of $143.99 at gearbest now.
