Blackview A8 with iPhone camera launching for $54.99

blackview a8

Shown off at MWC last month, Blackview have confirmed the final launch price and launch date of their Blackview A8 smartphone.

The Blackview A8 made headlines last month for having the design of a budget Oppo with the camera off the iPhone 5S for a price of around $50. Since we showed the phone in a hands on video (see below) Blackview have moved forward to launch the phone with the 25th March scheduled as the date you can buy one.

Pricing has increased slightly to $54.99 which is still a good price for a phone with a decent 8 mega-pixel camera, plus this 5-incher get a metal body and HD display.

Gizchina News of the week

The phone will come with a Mediatek MT6580A quad-core processor meaning you will only get GSM or 3G networks on the phone, it has 1GB RAM, 8GB memory, Android 5.1 and will come in either Pearl White, Champagne Gold or Violet Black.

More details about the phone when it is available to buy.

It’s one thing to have the same sensor as the iPhone 5, it’s another to have the same lens and optimization that iOS offers. I am willing to bet the camera comes no where close to the 5.

I’m with you on that one Balco, I bet it won’t produce picture quality even close to that of an iPhone 5s!

They’re obviously just using it as a big Marketing point “Same camera as an iPhone” so people run to it thinking they’ll get Apple image quality, speed, focus etc etc…

      Sad…

I will say though Blackview is a brand to watch. They opened a store in Cambodia last time I was there and I played around with some of their devices. They aren’t there yet but in a few years they could be a good budget brand.
