What happens when you drop your UMI Touch?

UMI is really trying to wreak havoc, at least with various destruction tests of their UMI Touch model and today we have the drop tests. So how big of a fall can UMI Touch survive?

You can see the answer to that question in the following video, where the phone is dropped from various heights by an asian girl. It survives the 2 meter fall, but we think if the tester would be some athletic chinese guy, the result could be way different 🙂 But still not a bad result and it shows some general sturdiness of the UMI Touch metal body.

Gizchina News of the week

And if you would want another chance to win the phone, we have one for you on UMI community forums. Good luck.

This kind of drop test is just a gimmick/nothing, unless they can provide full replacement warranty for the screen, at least for a year.

Received mine yesterday, fully updated it and so far everything works…

The camera does lag like hell though, not sure if they’re going to do anything about that as they were meant to have addressed it already in one of those updates?

Its really quite heavy especially when compared to my brothers Redmi Note 3 Pro and I’m not very impressed with the build quality so far, I can see that one of the capacitive buttons is lit better than the other and for some reason my physical home button is on a bit of a wonk, I’ve managed to move it around a bit as it seems to just be a sticker, but I really shouldn’t need to work on that should I?

Mine has not yet arrived but the sticky home button is a common complaint from those who have it. I had hoped it was an issue only on the first examples but it seems not. Have you been able to adjust it to your satisfaction?

Jerry, Henry, Shany, Jenny, Sarry, let us be clear here :

I represent UMI on this troll page so please you PR team go somewhere else.

BTW your name creation bot is bugged : it spits only names finishing by the letter “y”.

      Calling your boss right now.

I think GizChina should BAN the comments for Guests, because UMi employees are trolling every article… I see the same comments also on YouTube, just a copy & paste!!

They must change the name from UMi Touch, to “UMi Sucks”.

Many phone manufactures like to make drop test video to prove that the phone is anti-drop or something. Here is a drop test video for Bluboo maya with protective case on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mx53KVacBQ
