Xiaomi Max could be way pricier than expected

Leaked slide from the official Xiaomi presentation for the upcoming May 10th conference seems to be crushing some dreams about the affordability of the huge Xiaomi Max model. If the picture turns out to be legit, then the pricing of the phone is going to be way over the originally anticipated level.

Gizchina News of the week

The slide is showing 2199 yuan price (337$) for the 3GB+32GB model, which is even higher than what Xiaomi Mi5 Standard edition is selling for. As mentioned in our previous article with the Xiaomi Max TENAA certification leaks and pictures the rumors put the basic version roughly around 1299 yuan (199$). So either the price bump for the advanced model is extremely steep or even the basic version is going to be priced higher than expected.

Such price could be a serious blow to the desirability of the 6.4-inch FHD phone running Snapdragon 650 chipset, 16 MPix main camera, 4000 mAh battery and MIUI version based on Android 6.0.1. What do you think about this price for the Xiaomi Max model ?

Could be fake, or battery is bigger than rumoured. Since the redmi 3/note3 both have 4000mah in 5/5.5 inch sizes I was hoping for at least 5000 in the max.

If $375 is for the SD650 variant then bye bye Mi MAX.
Why we need to buy this “bigger screen only” model if Redmi Note 3 Pro (from china online reseller) is starting to get cheaper (more reasonable selling price) now ?

Different by $150 is totally ridiculous if only for bigger screen 5.5″ vs 6.4″

This is looking less desirable by the day. I think Xiaomi has really lost it’s way at the moment, wonder if they’ve branched out too much now and have lost their focus.

Unless all the specs are completely wrong it’s really SD820 with 3/4 GB RAM, this price is too high. Similar specs to the Mi5 would explain the difference in price (larger display costs more). Just have to wait and see.

    Agree
Unless if we don’t have a mobile in our hand
Nobody can disclose about the performance
    Predict
    What is in it ?
    Worth for the price?
    Wait until

We can make a pretty accurate guess on the performance if we know the specs. The SD650 has already been used in the Redmi Note 3 and the SD820 was used in the Mi5. It’s most likely one of these two chips.

Would be funny but this might hint that the 3GB is 1199 and 2GB at 999 or 1099CNY.
Ofc they could also just be trying to make some money and place it vs the OPPO R7 Plus.
