Homtom plans to woo HT17 users with a new flat UI

Homtom claim their HT17 is the world’s first phone to use the MediaTek MT6737 processor. While we’re unsure about how that’s going to pan out, what we do know is that Homtom are trying hard to make the HT17 a polished device.

Software is something Chinese phones have traditionally not been known for. Larger firms like Xiaomi and OnePlus have managed to shake things up a bit on that regard, but it’s not often that you see smaller brands try to please the buyer with the software on their phone.

While its nothing too major, news is that Homtom will ship a new and improved UI (basically a package to change the look and feel of the general UI) for the HT17. They say they’ve kept in mind ‘Simplicity and Elegance’ to design the new UI.

There’s no word on when it’ll show up, but expect to see HT17 shipped with this custom look and Android 6.0 soon.

Changing the way the launcher looks means for stability or aging.
