Remember the Pepsi-made phone? It isn’t finding buyers, apparently

Pepsi are usually known for their (extra) sweetened carbonated beverage. The brand however thought it would be a good idea to make a phone (everyone was doing it), and decided to try their hand at it.

Late last year, Pepsi put together the Pepsi P1s with an uninspiring design and an outdated processor. It’s been a while and no one really has the phone so far, and it appears as though it’s turned into a phone that’s hard to sell.

Which is perhaps why the P1s is on pre-order (yes, pre-order!) for less than a hundred dollars. This is including the reseller cut, so you can imagine how much Pepsi would’ve sold the phone for!

Gizchina News of the week

Pepsi-Phone-P11

To remind you of its specs, it comes with a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p display, an octa-core processor (the ancient MediaTek MT6592), a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 5 mega-pixel front-facing camera and a 3000mAh battery. A saving grace on the P1s is the fingerprint scanner on the rear. Anyone here fancy this one?

Shocking that no one wants a phone with a 32 bit SoC from 2013…

Personally I love Pepsi, but I love it in my cup with ice not in my pocket. Actually the best is EST, anyone who has been to Thailand probably has seen or tried it. Seeing as this phone is terrible lets talk about Soda lol!

In Thailand Pepsi used to be made by a company called Thai Beverage. In 2012 Pepsi ended their contract with Thai Beverage so they launched their own brand of soda called EST. It tastes like Pepsi only a littler more carbonated and a little sweeter. They also have a lemon lime version. Before 2012 Pepsi was found in virtually every restaurant in Thailand, since then most either offer EST or Coke.

Lol. If you’re gonna go, the girls and food are a lot better than the soda ;).

They also have a pretty good smartphone scene, lots of markets that sell all sorts of phones.

but they say there’s always a risk of a gal being a ladyboy instead… how to avoid that πŸ˜€ ?

also , are the phones cheap ? i ask because Taiwan is closer and imports should not be too much costly?

I like pepsi, but the whole concept is wrong.
Let’s say, I wouldn’t be happy if meizu would make food for me: all the dishes would be almost identical, and they would bring the following plate while I’m just getting started eating the previous one…
Or, if it was elephone to cook, there would be the chef and all of the waiters gathering around my table saying “that’s chicken, eat it” and then, as I start to eat, burst out screaming “he actually ate it!!! he fell for it lol!!!”
And don’t even get me started with oneplus, the only cheap street food where you need to wait months for a password before you can spend your money…
