Are you ready for the OnePlus 3S?

OnePlus are allegedly working on a new variant of the OnePlus 3 with updates and possible larger size!

It has been reported on Chinese news sites that OnePlus are having a spot of bother with their supply chain and can no longer source 5.5-inch AMOLED displays for their phone. This would normally be seen as a huge issue, but since the OP3 has been on sale for a few months already (meaning it’s considered old by some standard of the Chinese tech world) it could offer the company the perfect opportunity to update their handset.

Gizchina News of the week

We’ve already seen Xiaomi and Meizu work on a regular update cycle for their phones so it wouldn’t be all that shocking to see OnePlus working on a similar system for their phones.

Apparently, the new device might be more than just a simple speed boost, but rather an increase in size. Rumour has it that the new phone could feature a larger 6-inch screen size and that the phone could be called the OnePlus 3S or OnePlus 3 Plus.

We don’t know much about the new phone but chances are it will boast a large amount of RAM, Snapdragon 821 chipset, and feature Dash Charging.

ok, that’s a news for a china…they love to have tablets, what’s with a resto of the world!?
i don’t think One+ would give up from a smaller form phone (even though 5,5′ is not “small”) since big part of their succes is online sale to EU, USA, Russia…and we are not that much crazy about holding a TV on our ears while walking on streets…

They moved away from the 5″ because they thought the 5.5″ had the better market. I don’t see how moving to a 6″ screen would be a logical move.

i dont see how making the phone have essentially the same screen size and specs makes much sense a six inch screen would not create any cannibalism for the already made oneplus 3

Because the reason is availability of the AMOLED screens.

i dont believe amoled panels are as rare as oppo is making it seems i bet oppo isnt trickling enough resources to them or they have bad supply chains

Well, I believe Samsung is feeling OP’s heath and they’re reducing the number of pannels for them.
