OnePlus 3’s newest Android 7.0 build is here, in beta

OnePlus 3 Review

The popular OnePlus 3 is on the receiving end of yet another update (albeit beta). The phone has just received build 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

This happens to be another stepping stone, so as to say, for OnePlus who plan to release the stable Android 7.0 build for the OnePlus 3 before the end of the year.

Here are the key changes that this new update brings:

Gizchina News of the week

  • Added Expanded Screenshots
  • Shelf Design Optimizations
  • General UI Optimizations
  • DPI Optimizations
  • Battery Performance Optimizations
  • Stability and Performance Optimizations
  • General bug fixes

It’s also worth noting that this update doesn’t quite work well with the TWRP recovery, which is why OnePlus recommend using stock recovery.

Owners and interested parties can download the ROM from over at the OnePlus forums. With just a couple of weeks to go for the end of the year, it might just be a good idea to wait for the stable build… unless, of course, you truly want to be an early adopter.

I’ve flashed this on my Oneplus 3 yesterday. It’s rather stable, I’m surprised that they haven’t got it out of beta yet.

That’s good to hear. They’re probably waiting for user feedback before calling it a stable release.

Right? And the sound quality on le max 2 still remains one of the best for me. Which forum are you following? One over at xda and 4pda are rather active but you are going to have to Google translate 4pda.

Thanks for the tip, I didn’t know 4pda.
          I am following only xda.

Google kinda screwed OEMs this year with the premature release of Nougat 7.0 and the full stable in the form of 7.1.x, now OEMs are busy making 7.0 which suffers from some memory leaks and high battery drain, while 7.1 is the way to go.
