Despite Difficulties, LeEco Has A Best Seller

LeEco are in financial trouble at the moment, but it isn’t for lack of sales as it proven with new figures.

It has been reported that LeEco have held the best selling spot for smartphone sales in China from June to November of this year! This is quite remarkable for a company that has had to slow down expansion due to over investment.

Gizchina News of the week

The LeEco device that has seen this record sales is the LeEco Le2 smartphone, which funnily enough isn’t the current flagship device.

Data says the the LeEco Le2 has sold over 2.6million units in the 6 month period, out performing rivals from Meizu, Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi and other phone makers.

The LeEco Le2 Pro has also seen massive sales with sales in November along increasing 8.7%, although the Le3 Pro was launched at around the same time.

The problem isn’t sales but low profit strategy. Le max 2 is sold now at 199$ !!!!!

Vicious cycle as low profit=cheap prices= large sales! It’s the strategy they decided on and changing it now could be commercial suicide.

They aren’t really changing it. They are slowing down expansion. They make their money from their software ecosystem. The only reason they are having so much trouble is because of all the different markets they entered and all the different products they expanded to. I mean, they were designing a car for Christ’s sake.

Only real money they ever made actually whose as a containt provider which actually whose their core business, their firmwares are actually still rater bad.

I know their firmwares are bad. I was speaking to why they price their phones so low. They were basically doing what xiaomi did at first. Provide cheap hardware with their version of android on it. Get money from people by using their apps, appstore, etc. Unlike xiaomi they shot themselves in the foot though.

Well regarding firmwares I do expect them to improve now entering US market mostly not directly but trough developer communities.
Well LeTV do have problem with over expansion and biggest one currently is not related to their phones but electric car manufacturing in China & I am certain that Chinese government won’t look pleasing with them & that is a biggest life problem they have currently.

      What’s wrong with EUI ?

      • Sansa
        December 29, 2016

Actually, it’s not EUI, more like the idiots that decide crap. Like putting apps in auto-clean by default and disabling notifications for more battery. Idiots, just idiots.

auto clean is disabled by default for me. Takes 10 seconds to turn it off though

EUI just works. notifications need some extra work. there are no other issues as far as i know.

        December 29, 2016

I would gratefull to know what extra work will make them work. Because using the speacial dial code and desabline background control or something like that, doesn’t work.

Try myphone.gr with Google translate. We have a good LeEco community. You can find me there too with the same username

I visited that site, looked for the le 2 thread, but found nothing about notifications. Can you share it here, so me and people can see it?

I have the Le 2 x620. But, seems that reinstalliing the app really helped! At least, for now, no delayed notifications.

You need to allow application to auto launch and make sure that it has permissions to access network (in phone manager). Sometimes you just need to reinstall the app to make it work, especially if you updated firmware recently.

Yes the apps are in auto-launch. Now, i can’t see any perrmissions related to network. Firmware is BB72 20S. If i update the app, will it work better for notifications?

I’m surprised that these two Le Eco phones have sold so well with only 32GB on board storage and no SD card slot. Maybe in China they have large data allowances that let them stream a lot from the cloud?? In 2013 I was stuck with a 16GB iPhone, then the similar capacity Nexus 5 for a few months, never again anything less then 64GB.
