Doogee Y6 Max 3D official unboxing video released

The interesting new Doogee Y6 Max 3D is venturing into the uncharted territorry of glasses-free 3D effect and we have to wonder how it will turn out in reality. But now we can have at least some basic first idea about the phone in general thanks to the official unboxing video being released. Still won’t tell us much about the 3D experience, but it’s a start.

In terms of hardware the Doogee Y6 Max 3D is no slouch either with massive 6,5-inch AUO display with FullHD resolution, 2.5D glass and of course the glasses-free 3D effect, MT6750T processor, 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM, microSD slot, 4300 mAh battery with fast charging support, 13 Mpix rear camera using Samsung S5K3L8 sensor with PDAF, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, rear fingerprint scanner and HALL sensor.

That’s odd: my phone doesn’t have 4g at all and it still works… Must be some kind of bug, better throw it away before it activate self-destruction protocols! ?

The demo film is the same as on my vkworld discovery s2 so I presume that the screen technology is the same. I thought it was really good, and friends were genuinely impressed by it. However, finding content to play on it was not so easy. That said, it was possible to view normal film and stills with a 3d effect generated by the software. When viewing in 3d mode you halve the effective number of pixels due to the parallax display though.
It was a great phone until it got wet in the rain! Haven’t been able to resurrect it since, but one of my favorites.
