Gigaset ME Pro – journey back in time or a great deal ?

Gigaset ME Pro

With the constant stream of new phones coming to the market it’s easy to get caught up in the flood and only look at the new models as the potential bargain. But logic would dictate that sometimes it’s worth checking out the slightly older high-end models, because the price is now more than competitive and it could quickly become a bargain. So what about let’s say Gigaset ME Pro ?

The hardware in Gigaset ME Pro is still quite formidable and in some cases even pretty unique. Like the whole seamless screen without any openings thanks to the Bone Conduction technology. It uses 5,5-inch FullHD screen with 2.5D Gorilla Glass, has powerful Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, 20 Mpix rear camera with OIS, 8 Mpix front selfie cam, 4000 mAh big battery with Quick Charge, USB Type-C, IR control sensor, UV sensor, Dirac HD Sound, hybrid SIM slot, fingerprint sensor and more. Only clear downside could be the older Android 5.1 Lollipop as the OS with Gigaset UI on top of it.

Gizchina News of the week

Still such specs would mean a flagship device not that long ago so how much is the price for the Gigaset ME Pro these days ? Well curent sale on Geekbuying has it listed as low as $195.99 which looks like quite a punch for the money. Check it out, because sometimes it’s maybe worth to look back.

You should review it to give us some feedback, instead of saying just “try this out, specs look good”

Funnily enough I thought this was going to be a review, scrolled down and saw the comments! Completely useless post.

The problem… is the processor itself!

I have the Gigaset Me (not the Pro, like in this topic). It’s a great phone for the money, very fast, very pretty, with average battery life, but it has some negatives…

It will stay forever with Android 5.1, because the company will not support them any more… Only if we find a custom ROM from the XDA site. Also, the call quality with the 2G technology (G or E), sometimes is not very good… With 3G is perfect. I don’t know about VoLTE (4G calling) though.

Gigaset ME Pro – journey back in time or a great deal ? Well the question remains open because you don’t give any hints to an answer. Pus the price is slightly high for relatively average specs, so that kills the main argument of “old but cheap”. So what’s the point, is this an ad and only an ad ?

Yeah, it’s not worth $200. You can buy a ZUK Z2 for less money and SD820…

I got my Gigaset ME (not Pro) for $130 in November. It was a great deal. It has some issues, but overall it’s a good phone, better than any UMi, Elephone and other crap… ☺☺
