The Alcatel Idol 5 shows up on GFXBench


The latest phone to turn up on GFXBench, is the Alcatel Idol 5. Alcatel has been rolling out some quality devices and the Idol 5 comes as a mid range offering. The Idol 5 has turned up after the Idol 5s.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, the configuration hints toward a Snapdragon 625 SoC, one of the major chipset that is being used in many of the mid range phones on the market. The Idol 5 will host the Adreno 506 GPU and 32 GB of internal storage. According to the spec sheet, the Idol 5 will have 3 GB of RAM with a 5.2 inch 1080p display and Android Nougat 7.1.1. The camera department is similar to the one in the Idol 5s, with the rear housing a 12MP camera with flash which can shoot 4k video and an 8MP camera in the front. The connectivity suite is similar to most devices including accelerometer, Bluetooth, compass, GPS, gyro, light sensors, pedometer, and a proximity sensor. No information about the battery is out yet.

The Idol 5 can cause ripples in the market owing to it running the Android Nougat 7.1.1, the latest version of android. The pricing of the phone hasn’t been revealed yet, but it might stay in the mid range. Watch out for more.

      It’s meant to be a midrange device. The Idol 4 used the 617.
