Bezel-less Bluboo S1 compared against Samsung S8

Bluboo S1

Upcoming tri-bezel-less Bluboo S1 often gets compared to the Xiaomi Mi Mix, because it’s clearly a phone heavily influenced and inspired by this model. Bluboo brass think that the S1 can offer a cheaper alternative to the extremely expensive Xiaomi piece and are not afraid to promote it like that. But what happens when it takes on even heavier weight in Samsung S8 ?

It’s quite clear that these phones are from different galaxies hardware-wise, but on the other hand the same can be said about the price. And Bluboo S1 can claim some small victories thanks to higher 90 % screen-to-body ratio or 3500 mAh battery. For the better idea check out the following table with the specs :

When you look at Screen to body ratio and Dimensions you will find out, that BluBoo is bullshitting people and that Samsung is even better..sad to say that, Im not a Samsung fan at all..But looks like impressive phone anyway..

How you dare compare youself with Samsung. You should compare youself with DOOGEE MIX and the new one on the list, the whatever Maze Alpha. But not Samsung, please!

Something doesn’t add up with the Bluboo’s dimensions. How can it have a smaller display than Samsung’s S8 (5.5 vs 5.8), be the same height (148 mm) yet be a full 6 mm wider (74.3 vs S8’s 68.1?? If it is wider than the S8 with a smaller display, it must have side bezels. The width is comparable to conventional 5.5 inch phones with full bezels, many are around 75 mm wide. The old LG G3, also a 5.5 inch phone, was 74.6 mm wide for example. If Bluboo’s listed dimensions are accurate, they’ve missed the point which is to make the phone narrower by cutting side bezels, hence easier to hold despite having a relatively large display.

5,5″ is the diagonal. The screen on the bluboo is “squarer”, so it might add up. But it’s true they’ve missed the point of making the phone narrower.

Here’s the thing though, the Bluboo is WAY too wide. S8 wins, hands down because a narrower phone will be easier to hold.
