UMIDIGI S2 AnTuTu and Geekbench Scores, Plus Battery Test (Video)

The UMIDIGI S2 is probably one of the most complete smartphones currently on the market. It indeed comes with a large 6-inch display sporting the trendy 18:9 aspect ratio, and a power efficient Mediatek Helio P20 clocked at 2.3Ghz coupled with 4GB of RAM. But that’s not it, the S2 also packs a massive 5100mAh capacity battery that can be charged through the USB Type-C port using Quick Charge PE+ 2.0, so you’re never running out of juice.

UMIDIGI’s S2 doesn’t lack in the camera department neither, with a 13MP + 5MP Sony camera combo on the back and another 5MP selfie shooter with beautify features.

So, since the smartphone is really appealing to many users, most of them are eager to know how it performs. To answer those requests, UMIDIGI just uploaded a Youtube video showing the S2 in action; let’s check it out!

I have to say that after watching the video / ad I want an UMIDIGI S2 myself but, jokes aside, here are the benchmark results:

Overall Antutu score: 62567

  • 3D: 9410
  • UX: 28834
  • CPU:19211
  • RAM: 5112

Geekbench score: 62567

Gizchina News of the week

  • Single-core: 889
  • Multi-Core: 3828

So, benchmark results are in line with that you’d expect from a Mediatek Helio P20, no surprises there.

As far as gaming goes, in the video the UMIDIGI S2 seemed to run games just fine, without any noticeable lag or dropped frames. Given the large display, big battery, power efficient and good performing SoC, the S2 could be one the best smartphones for gaming, at least for less demanding games.

Since we mentioned the battery just above, UMIDIGI also did a live broadcast showing the S2 playing videos for 9 hours straight, for copyright reasons the video was then removed by Youtube, but here below we have a screenshot:

Results are as follows:

  • 1h of video playing, battery: 91%
  • 2h of video playing, battery: 84%
  • 3h of video playing, battery: 73%, screen temperature is 32.5°c
  • 4h of video playing, battery: 66%
  • 5h of video playing, battery: 56%
  • 6h of video playing, battery: 47%
  • 7h of video playing, battery: 35%
  • 8h of video playing, battery: 23%
  • 9h of video playing, battery: 11%, screen temperature is 36°c

All these info should have satisfied those of you interested in getting the smartphone. If you want to learn more about UMIDIGI S2 or buy one, head over to Gearbest where you can find it for $199.99, that’s $30 off retail price.

Sorry but the P20 just doesn’t cut it. otherwise it is a decent phone.

IT cuts it very well IMO! But the only real issue with this phone is Android 6.0!!! How could they have made that mistake??
