Elephone S9 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and Curved Display in the works

Elephone S9

Elephone surprised everybody today and just released an image and some interesting details about what we assume is their next flagship phone. The company appears to be calling it Elephone S9 as we can see from their post on Facebook.

Elephone S9

What’s really interesting about the phone is that it’ll be the first ever Elephone device sporting a Qualcomm CPU, more specifically the company stated that it’ll be equipped with the powerful and efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. If that were to be confirmed, it would be a huge step forward for the smaller Chinese phone maker.

Gizchina News of the week

Of course, we hope that’s true as well as it may lead other similar companies to adopt Qualcomm SoCs, at least on higher end devices.

Another important detail Elephone has revealed about this Note 8-inspired phone is indeed the presence of a flexible AMOLED display. Elephone say it will be the third device sporting such technology, after the Samsung S8 and Samsung Note 8; we assume they mean in 2017.

That’s as much as we know at the moment, other than what it’ll look like, which if you’ve read up until now, you know it’s a carbon copy of the Samsung Note 8. Learn more about it on the company’s official website (when available).

It’s not first time nor a first Elephone to use QC SoC. First whose Trunk with S410 all do it whosent bad the SoC whose (& that whose in golden MTK mid/entry lv days) so it never got much traction. Who knows if pricing/quality is good & they release sources on time this one could be good (but I don’t have a high hopes regarding it happening).

Ahhah you still remember the Elephone Trunks! That was an oddity, rare to see a QC in an Elephone, and a midrange 660 at that!

So will it be like the galaxy note 8’s 18.5 : 9 screen? or traditional 18:9 like all the other brands??

As the 1st rendered image came by now, I am not expecting them to launch the device very soon! At least not within next 6 months by when new technology will be available in market πŸ˜€ hahaaa.. lol

Looks stunning as the sides are curved. Is I think not only galaxy S8 and S8 note are not only the devices to have real curved edges but also S7 and S7 note had the same curved screen. Am I wrong?

Devices are good from this company, once I contacted to the after sales, they were responsive as well, but the single thing I did not like during the purchase of my Elephone S8 was the bad service by GearBest it took more than 1 month to ship my device :/
But the device is really good, I am satisfied and hoping to get Oreo on this. πŸ™‚

This phone is definitely exciting, IF AND ONLY IF Elephone works on past mistakes.
    1. Legendary ‘Elephone rattly sim card tray’
    2. Legendary ‘Elephone can’t take low light photos’
    3. Legendary ‘Scanning the finger to lighting the screen pause’
4.Legendary ‘Metallic but still not necessarily premium’. To get what i mean here hold Elephone P8 next to a Vernee Apollo
At least on this one the bezels will be thin so we wont have legendary ‘home button with no capacitive keys’ bezel wastage, so it will be a good phone. It would also be nice if they bring back wireless charging like elephone P9000. That is if it launches at all, anyone remember the P9000 Edge?
