Redmi Note 5, Redmi 6 Pro, Mi 6X, and Redmi S2 to receive Android 9 Pie in Q1 2019


Xiaomi has promised to bring over Android Pie for The Mi 6X, the Redmi Note 5 (Redmi Note 5 Pro in India), the Redmi 6 Pro and the Redmi S2 (Redmi Y2 in India), with the internal beta estimated to be ready within Q1 of 2019.

The Smartphones have been confirmed to receive Android Pie 9.0. The date concerns specifically the Chinese market, but even other users will not have to wait too long. It is very likely, in fact, that by the end of the month of March, the mentioned phones will begin to receive the update to Android Pie 9.0, with a new version of the MIUI.
