Huawei is working on two tablets with a 48MP Sony sensor

Presently, there are a handful of “top” Android manufacturers who are still interested in making tablets because the Android tablet market has been shrinking for some time now mainly due to the increased size of smartphones. Now, there are reports that Huawei may be working on two tablets. Although the rumored Kirin 985 is coming in the second half of the year, Kirin 980 will still be Huawei’s flagship chip for now.

Gizchina News of the week

A few days ago, XDA editor Mishaal Rahman exposed the codenames of four new Huawei devices on Twitter. Two smartphones and two tablets were equipped with the Kirin 980 processor. In terms of size, the 8.4-inch, 10.7-inch two new devices should be Huawei M6 tablets, while the 6.39-inch and 6.26-inch devices should be the new Huawei nova phones.

The two tablets come with a display resolution of 1600 x 2560. As for the battery, it appears that the smaller 8.4-inch tablet uses a 4200 mAh battery while the larger 10.7-inch tablet will come with a huge 7500 battery. On these tablets, we get to see a good camera setup as there appears to be equipped with a Sony IMX586 48MP rear camera.

However, it is important to note that Mishaal Rahman’s tweet came with a disclaimer. “All the info was mined from source. Can’t guarantee I interpreted everything correctly nor that every device will launch. Also, I don’t know exact camera configs, just the sensors.”
