OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is the company’s first 5G enabled phone


Chinese smartphone maker earlier today introduced its 7th generation of the Oneplus flagship killers which will take on Samsung and Apple best offering so far. The new Oneplus smartphone lineup which consists of the Oneplus 7, Oneplus 7 Pro is a shift from the usual tradition of offering only a single variant of its flagship device.

Aside from the OP7 and OP7 Pro, the Chinese phone maker also announced the Oneplus 7 Pro 5G after it showcased a 5G prototype smartphone at the MWC in February. The Oneplus 7 Pro 5G as expected packs the same specifications as the OnePlus 7 Pro, including the Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform, but with the Snapdragon X50 5G modem and Qualcomm RF Front-End solutions for the 5G experience.

While we are not sure if the OnePlus 7Pro 5G will make it to other markets, the company revealed that the device will be exclusive to EE in the UK, beginning with four maj0r cities – London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Belfast – plus Birmingham and Manchester, before it will expand to ten more UK cities including Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry, and Bristol. As part of the exclusive EE and OnePlus partnership, 100 of the first EE OnePlus 6T customers will be upgraded to a new OnePlus7 Pro 5G and 5G plan – free of charge, before launch.

Pricing has yet to be confirmed, though there are speculations it could cost as much as $300 more than its previous phones £1000 mark for the 5G handset, the Oneplus7 Pro 5G might end up close to £1000.
