Unlike Xiaomi, which is going to release a new flagship in the first half of 2020, its sub-brand Redmi will only update the current flagship line. As you should know, the Redmi K30 Pro has been in works for a while. And we are waiting for this device to hit the market in the nearest future. As SmallTechNews reports, the Redmi K30 Pro has abandoned the punch-hole screen solution and will use a lifting camera solution to further enhance the screen ratio.

Gizchina News of the week

Lu Weibing, the former president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of the Redmi brand, said that punch-hole screens will be a major trend for smartphones in 2020.

Although the lifting camera solution takes up a large amount of internal space (compared to the punch-hole screen), it may appear on the-gen flagship models as well. Say, the already-launched VIVO NEX 3 5G uses a similar design.

Compared with the punch-hole screen, the lifting camera presents a visual effect close to the true full-screen.

As for the key features, the Redmi K30 Pro will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 flagship platform. Thus, it will support SA/, NSA dual-mode 5G. It is also expected to come with a UFS 3.0 flash memory and super-fast charge support. Plus, the phone will support dual-frequency GPS and full-featured NFC.

Of course, the price of Redmi K30 Pro will be very competitive. Lu Weibing has emphasized more than once that Redmi will always bring products with the ultimate price/performance ratio.
